Trade Lane Manager – U.S. RouteDepartment: Commercial / SalesLocation: Ho Chi Minh City (or Hanoi)Reports to: General ManagerPurpose of the RoleThe Trade Lane Manager is responsible for developing and growing the company’s freight forwarding business between Vietnam and the United States, focusing on both export and import volumes. This role is key in driving profitability, building partnerships with overseas offices and agents, and enhancing the company’s market share on the U.S. trade lane.Key Responsibilities1. Trade Lane Strategy & DevelopmentBuild, implement, and execute commercial strategies to develop Vietnam–U.S. trade lane performance.Identify market trends, growth opportunities, and potential customers within the trade.Work closely with overseas counterparts (especially the U.S. team) to create joint sales and pricing plans.Drive balanced volume growth for both export and import flows.2. Business Acquisition & Account DevelopmentSupport local sales teams in targeting and acquiring customers with cargo moving to/from the U.S.Conduct joint sales visits, client meetings, and business reviews with key customers and partners.Develop customized freight solutions, ensuring competitive pricing and high service quality.3. Relationship ManagementMaintain strong relationships with carriers, co-loaders, and vendors to secure competitive rates and space allocation.Strengthen cooperation with U.S. offices, agents, and strategic partners to maximize trade synergies.4. Performance & ReportingAchieve revenue, GP, and volume targets for the trade lane.Provide monthly performance reviews, pipeline updates, and trade lane forecasts.Ensure alignment with global pricing and procurement teams.Qualifications & RequirementsBachelor’s Degree in Business, Logistics, International Trade, or related field.Minimum 5 years of experience in freight forwarding, with at least 2 years in trade lane or route development.Strong knowledge of the U.S. logistics market, carriers, and shipping trends.Proven track record in achieving sales targets and managing trade performance.Excellent communication and negotiation skills in English and Vietnamese.Ability to work collaboratively across regions and departments.
