In this critical role, you will be responsible for monitoring and operating Tunnels systems for one of the operational zones of Qatar, ensuring the safe, efficient and effective management of traffic. Note: this role is shift based to support 24/7/365 operations of the Tunnels Control Rooms.Key responsibilities include:Monitor and manage the Tunnels systems to detect incidents and congestion and achieve the performance SLAs for network, corridor, junction and incident managementIdentify performance improvement opportunities for congestion, incident and major event traffic managementCoordinating with key stakeholders such as Drainage Management Centre, Ministry of Interior, Baladiya and Hamad Medical Corporation to safely manage incidents and eventsFollowing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures, emergency plans and severe weather response plans where applicableRegularly updating the Tunnels Team Leader during escalated events and incidents that Tunnels Control Rooms are managing or supportingMonitoring SCATS, SCADA and ATMS systems and making adjustments to manage short term congestion and corridor performance recovery following incidents and manual interventionsEnsuring equipment faults or availability that are impacting operations are reported to the Team Leader immediatelyDetecting and responding to roads incidents to achieve performance SLAsSupporting the delivery of the RMC daily reports, major incident reports and monthly performance reportsManaging the coordination of emergency works with zonal and strategic highways framework contractors Setting and removing traffic management response plans and DMS messaging plans in accordance with scheduled traffic diversion plans (TDP) and supporting major eventsSupport the regular review and update of standard operating procedures and response plansStaying updated on industry best practices and innovative technologies in roads operationsComplying with health, safety, and environmental regulations in the Tunnel Control Rooms.QualificationsMinimum of 3 years’ experience. Traffic Operations and Control Room experience desirableExperience operating traffic and tunnel control room systems (Genetec, SCATS, ATMS, SCADA etc.) desirableKnowledge of road infrastructure maintenance and operations, particularly in Qatar or the Middle East regionStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detailProficient in MS Office Suite and relevant road management softwareExcellent communication and stakeholder management abilitiesKnowledge of Qatar or Middle East road standards and regulationsAbility to work effectively in a multicultural environmentProficiency in English required, proficiency in Arabic is desirable
