About UsTokenest is a digital platform, powering services with non-fungible tokens. As we continue to grow our business, we’re building a full payment gateway and merchant platform out of Dubai – powering card payments, alternative payment methods and digital assets for high-growth, often high-volume , online businesses (including gaming, NFTs and other digital verticals).Our stack covers:Merchant dashboards & reportingRisk, fraud & chargeback toolsSettlement, reconciliation & pay-out flowsHosted payment pages & in-app checkoutWe’re now hiring a UX/UI Designer to own the end-to-end product experience across these surfaces. It’s imperative that the right person has experience within the payments gateway space.Role OverviewYou will be the lead product designer for our payment gateway: from the first screen a merchant sees, to the dashboards, tools, risk scoring that internal teams use every day. You’ll work closely with the founders, product, engineering, risk and operations teams in Dubai to:Help define how a modern payment gateway for high-risk merchants should feel and behave.Design simple, trustworthy experiences on top of complex payment, risk and compliance logic.Build and maintain a design system that keeps our interfaces consistent and scalable.This role is hands-on: you’re expected to move from discovery → flows → wireframes → polished UI → dev handover, not just one part of that chain.Key ResponsibilitiesProduct & UX StrategyPartner with product and stakeholders to understand business goals, regulatory constraints and merchant needs.Turn requirements and rough ideas into clear user journeys, information architecture and flows.Map out end-to-end payment experiences, including: Initial merchant setup & onboarding Checkout and payment for customers Declines, retries and fallbacks for customers and merchant screens Refunds, chargebacks and disputes for merchants to handle Settlements, reconciliations and pay-outs for merchantsUX Design & PrototypingCreate wireframes, user flows, and clickable prototypes (primarily in Figma) for web and responsive web.Design and iterate on: Hosted payment pages & embedded checkout Merchant dashboards (reporting, settlement, configuration) Risk/AML/KYC flows (document upload, verification states, limits, freezes) Internal back-office tools (support, manual review, exception handling). Run lightweight usability tests with merchants, internal users and test groups; iterate based on feedback and data.UI & Design SystemDefine a clean, modern visual language for the gateway (typography, color, spacing, components, states).Build and maintain a component-based design system in Figma for:Forms, tables, charts, filters, cardsNotifications, alerts, error/success statesDrop downs, modals, multi-step flowsEnsure layouts work well for data-heavy B2B views (e.g. transaction lists, filters, risk queues, reconciliation screens).Data, Risk & Compliance FlowsDesign interfaces that handle 3DS, AVS, CVV and other card security flows clearly and confidently.Consider card scheme rules, PCI, AML and KYC when designing journeys (e.g. clear messaging on limits, holds and freezes).Make error and edge cases first-class citizens: declines, timeouts, partial approvals, chargebacks, retries, FX issues.What You’ve Done (Requirements)3–6+ years as a UX/UI or Product Designer, with at least 2 years in payments / fintechStrong portfolio with live product workFigma expert: components, variants, auto-layout, design tokens, prototyping.Comfortable designing for different payment use casesExperience collaborating daily with developers and product managers in a fast-paced environment.Strong communication skills in English; able to justify design decisions using data, constraints, and user impact.Nice to HaveExperience with high-risk verticals (gaming, crypto, FX, digital content, adult, etc.).Familiarity with Visa/Mastercard acquiring, scheme rules, PCI and dispute processes.Experience building admin tools and internal ops tools (risk queues, manual review, etc.).Knowledge of designing for regulators/auditors – clear logs, explicit messaging and strong traceability.Working With UsLocation: Dubai, UAE – primarily on-site with some flexibility.Environment: Fast-moving, founder-led, low bureaucracy, building v1 products – lots of ownership.Competitive compensation package (salary + potential bonus/ESOP – details to be agreed).
