Web Engineer

Devolver Digital is looking for a Web Engineer to help us build and maintain scalable web applications using modern JavaScript technologies, with a focus on delivering functional user experiences and robust backend systems. You’ll be responsible for assisting the Engineering team with designing and developing full-stack web applications using Node.js and Next.js, creating both server-side APIs and dynamic frontend interfaces. You'll work with different database solutions including Snowflake and MongoDB for data storage and retrieval.Qualities We're looking forWe're looking for someone with 3+ years of professional experience in web development, with strong proficiency in Node.js for building server-side applications and APIs.You should have hands-on experience with Next.js, including both the App Router and Pages Router, and a solid understanding of React and modern JavaScript (ES6+).Experience designing and working with relational and non-relational databases is essential, as is familiarity with RESTful API design and implementation.You should be comfortable with Git version control and have a strong foundation in HTML, CSS, and responsive design principles.Nice to HavesIdeal candidates will have experience with TypeScript for type-safe development and familiarity with additional technologies such as Next.js, Tailwind CSS, or other CSS frameworks.Experience with deployment platforms such as Vercel, AWS, or similar cloud services.We also appreciate experience with GraphQL, Redis or other caching solutions, and authentication systems (NextAuth.js, JWT, OAuth).Knowledge of queue systems such as RabbitMQ or Kafka is a plus.We offerIn addition to a competitive salary we also contribute to your pension, offer private medical cover, dental and life assurance.Great work-life balance with flexible working hoursHybrid model available depending on the department and the roleVideo Games! Restricted Stock Units (RSUs)About UsDevolver Digital is a video game publisher specialising in indie games.
