Jake Paul drops Tyson Fury bombshell and then vows to 'knock out' Anthony Joshua

Jake Paul has audaciously declared he'll knock out Anthony Joshua and then square off against Tyson Fury next year. The internet sensation turned pugilist is set to go toe-to-toe with the two-time heavyweight world champ in Miami, Florida, on December 19 , a bout that will be streamed worldwide on Netflix . Despite his imminent clash , the 28-year-old isn't shy about sharing his future fight plans . At a press conference on Friday evening with Ariel Helwani, Paul was asked if he planned to disrupt Joshua's upcoming schedule with Matchroom Boxing . His reply was unequivocal: "Yeah, 100%. It's a massive mistake to look past this, seriously. I'm putting a stint in all of those plans. "Don't book anything, don't arrange flights and hotels. I'm knocking this guy out, becoming the CEO of Matchroom Boxing and changing the plans. Then it's going to be me vs Tyson Fury next year." When probed about whether he felt slighted by Joshua's future plans and Eddie Hearn's comments about the match, Paul retorted: "Yeah, look at the last time they came to America and what the plans they had were. Andy Ruiz stopped that, so this is Andy Ruiz 2.0.", reports the Mirror . As for his own future plans, Joshua stated: "Yeah, if I'm going to be honest, I'm going to break his face, I'm going to break his body up, I'm going to stomp all over him. That's my mentality, right? That's a fighter's mentality. "And I know what's in my heart, I know what's in my mind, and I'm here to compete. I'm here to prove myself, that I'm the better fighter. So I'm looking forward to it and I'll do that until I'm finished fighting, no matter who it is." When quizzed about potential rivals for 2026, Joshua kept his cards close to his chest, replying: "My focus is on Jake Paul . They're not signed, they're not sealed, but they're opportunities, really. "They're just opportunities in the game, but my main focus that's signed and sealed is Jake Paul. So that's all I want in front of me." This isn't Paul's first brush with the Fury clan. Back in February 2023, he tasted defeat for the first time at the hands of Tommy Fury, who eked out a split-decision win after eight punishing rounds. While rumours swirl about a possible rematch, Paul now seems set on squaring off against two-time world heavyweight champ Tyson Fury. The hitch, however, is that Fury hung up his gloves earlier this year, following consecutive losses to undefeated Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk. Announcing his retirement on social media in January, Fury said: "Hi everybody, I'm going to make this short and sweet. I'd like to announce my retirement from boxing, it's been a blast. "I've loved every single minute of it. I'm going to end with this, Dick Turpin wore a mask. God bless everybody, see you on the other side."
