Man Utd star, 18, trains with Ruben Amorim's first team as three stars miss session

The majority of the Manchester United squad were put through their paces at Carrington on Friday as they geared up for Everton's visit to Old Trafford on Monday evening. The players appeared in high spirits as they emerged onto a bright yet chilly training pitch this morning. Prior to the main session beginning, Ruben Amorim set up a gauntlet exercise that has become a regular feature of training sessions, after their draw with Spurs ahead of the international break . Those taking part included Matthijs de Ligt , who earned his first international start for the Netherlands since 2024 during the recent break, and Senne Lammens, who represented Belgium following an encouraging beginning to his Old Trafford career. After completing that team-bonding activity, the actual training work commenced. And 18-year-old Shae Lacey was part of the proceedings ahead of their clash with Everton . Lacey could set for a bigger role in the coming months, with Joshua Zirkzee’s future up in the air and Benjamin Sesko out for a month. Lacey opened his account for England U20s last week and has trained with England U21s and Thomas Tuchel ’s first team since the start of the season. Three players were conspicuously missing from this morning's training session. Kobbie Mainoo didn't make the trip to north London before the international break due to an injury concern and was absent once more on Friday, though he may participate in Saturday's training, reports the Manchester Evening News . There was heightened worry regarding the other two missing players. Harry Maguire "was not ready" to participate in the session, with no indication provided about when he might return to training. Regarding Benjamin Sesko, Amorim confirmed his absence after the player missed training. "He is going to stay a few weeks out," Amorim explained. "I don't know how long but it is not that serious we have to be careful with him."
