Fituesi i vërtetë i zgjedhjeve: Partia "Asnjëri"

Do të kishte dorëheqje, reflektim, debat publik.

‘I don’t want to be a burden’ – Messi speaks on chances of playing in 2026 World Cup

Lionel Messi has shared fresh insight into his decision-making process regarding whether he will feature for Argentina at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Speaking about the possibility, the 2022 World Cup winner said turning out for the national team at such a major tournament remains special, especially after lifting the trophy in Qatar. “It’s a special World Cup; playing with the national team in important competitions is always special, and even more after winning a World Cup,” as quoted by Sport. However, Messi stressed that he would only return if he feels capable of contributing at the highest level. “But as I told you, I don’t want to be a burden. I want to feel physically well, be sure that I can help the group and contribute things to the team.” The Inter Miami star noted the difference in calendar between MLS and European football could influence his readiness ahead of the tournament in the USA, Canada and Mexico. “Our season here is different from Europe’s. We’ll have preseason in between, few matches before the World Cup, and I’ll see day-by-day how I’m feeling physically, whether I’m in the condition I want to be in to participate.” Messi, who turns 39 during the 2026 World Cup, has not ruled out taking part but insists the final decision will depend on how his body responds as the tournament approaches.

House vote likely Wednesday on ending US government shutdown

WASHINGTON: The effort to end the longest-ever US government shutdown on Wednesday (Nov 13) heads towards a final vote, as President Donald Trump declared victory in the political face-off and rival Democrats tore themselves apart over the deal. The House of Representatives appeared likely to vote on Wednesday on a spending Bill to solve the six-week standoff, after eight Democrats broke ranks in the Senate on Monday to side with Trump's Republicans. During a Veterans Day speech at Arlington National Cemetery, Trump broke off to praise Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson and Senate Majority Leader John Thune. "Congratulations to you and to John and to everybody on a very big victory," Trump said as he spotted Johnson in the audience. "We're opening up our country - it should have never been closed," added Trump, bucking US presidential tradition by using a ceremonial event to score political points. Trump said later he expected the Republican-controlled House to approve the Bill to fund the government through January. "Only people that hate our country want to see it not open," he told ESPN. "SERIOUS CALCULATIONS" Top Democrats have vowed to oppose the government-funding Bill, in large part because it does not directly address the extension of health insurance subsidies, which are set to expire at the end of this year. But it is likely to pass the House as it only needs a simple majority, which Republicans narrowly have. From the start, Trump had piled pressure on Democrats by letting the shutdown be as punishing as possible and refusing to negotiate on their demands on health insurance. A million federal workers went unpaid, food benefits for low-income Americans came under threat and air travellers faced thousands of cancellations and delays ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy warned Tuesday that the chaos could get worse by the weekend if the shutdown persists, with air traffic controllers unable to be paid and authorities ordering further slowdowns in flight traffic. "You're going to have airlines that make serious calculations about whether they continue to fly, full stop," Duffy told reporters at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport.

"We're just going to cross every bridge...": Hailey Bieber talks about her relationship with Justin Bieber

Washington DC [US], November 11 (ANI): Hailey Bieber shared rare insight into her and Justin Bieber's marriage, noting how they have been coping amid rumours about their relationship, according to E! News. "We're just taking it a day at a time," Hailey said in an interview. "We both feel very protective of our son, and I don't think that's ever going to change, but our life is our life, and it is really public, so I think we're just going to cross every bridge that we need to when we get there."Hailey continued, "But as of right now, I feel really comfortable about the way we are sharing things and not sharing things," according to E! News.As Hailey, who gave birth to Jack in August 2024, explained, she is feeling more settled in her role as a mother."I don't think there's anything someone can tell you about it that will ever, ever, ever prepare you until you do it yourself," the model said. "But I feel much more prepared to do it again, as opposed to how not prepared I felt doing it for the first time." Hailey added, "And I think for me personally, there's so much unknown to it, but so much happens and so much changes and you evolve in a totally different way that you would never be able to prepare for until you do it."The pair have faced rumours about their marriage since they tied the knot in 2018."I feel like I've fought so hard to try to get people to understand me, or know who I am, or see me for me," Hailey told Vogue in a cover story released in May. "And people just don't want to sometimes. And there's nothing you can do about that," according to E! News. She continued, "I've been in a position where I've tried to tell my side of a story or correct a narrative or tell the truth of a lie and then they go, Well, she's lying. Imagine how trapping that feels."Hailey was even subjected to marriage rumours after she had just given birth to Jack."Being postpartum is the most sensitive time I've ever gone through in my life, and learning a new version of myself is very difficult," she continued. "And to be doing that all the while going on the internet every day and people being like, They're getting divorced and They're this and They're not happy: It is such a mindf--k. I cannot even begin to explain it. It's a crazy life to live," according to E! News. (ANI)

(PHOTO: AFP) Latest News, Regional November 11, 2025 COP30 opens with countries urged to push for faster climate progress BELEM, Brazil (CMC) – The 30th Conference of the Parties of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) began here on Monday, with a clear message that the era of half-measures is over and that climate change is real, devastating communities and driving up costs, but solutions are within reach. UN Climate Change Executive Secretary, Simon Stiell, said that commitments and agreements made by successive COPs were beginning to show impact, with the global emissions curve now starting to bend downward. The former senior Grenada government minister acknowledged that much work remains but highlighted that Belém “home to the mouth of the mighty Amazon River” can serve as inspiration. “The Amazon is not a single river, but a vast system sustained by more than a thousand tributaries. In the same way, implementation of COP outcomes must be driven by multiple streams of international cooperation.” Stiell urged delegates to focus on turning ambition into action, saying “your job here is not to fight one another, your job here is to fight this climate crisis, together. This is the growth story of the 21st century – the economic transformation of our age.” Stiell warned that “no national plan can solve this problem on its own,” stressing that no country can afford the economic shock of climate disasters that slash gross domestic product (GDP) by double digits. “It makes neither economic nor political sense to stand idle while catastrophic droughts destroy crops and drive food prices sky-high,” he said, calling it “unforgivable” that extreme weather continues to claim millions of lives when proven solutions already exist. Among the key priorities for COP30, highlighted by Stiell are a just and orderly transition away from fossil fuels, tripling renewable energy capacity and doubling energy efficiency, mobilizing US$1.3 trillion annually for climate action in developing countries as well as approving a global framework of adaptation indicators and advancing the Work Programme on Just Transition and the Technology Implementation Programme. Brazil’s President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, in his address said the conference provides the moment to match opportunity with urgency, calling for a decisive defeat of climate denial and faster action to keep the 1.5°C goal alive. A preliminary assessment by the UNFCCC, which convenes the yearly COPs, suggests these pledges could cut emissions by 12 per cent by 2035. It’s progress, but not yet enough to guarantee the 1.5°C goal. The challenge now is turning promises into action at a pace that matches the scale of the crisis. President Lula warned that “climate change is not a threat to the future – it is a tragedy of the present.” Citing Hurricane Melissa in the Caribbean and a tornado in Paraná, the president said described COP 30 as “the COP of truth,” warning that denial and delay are no longer options. “We are moving in the right direction, but at the wrong speed. Crossing 1.5°C is a risk we cannot take.” He called for an end to climate denialism, underscoring that “in the age of disinformation, obscurantists reject not only scientific evidence but also the progress of multilateralism. “They control algorithms, sow hatred, spread fear, and attack institutions, science, and universities. It is time to impose a new defeat on denialists. Without the Paris Agreement, the world would be heading toward catastrophic warming of nearly 5°C by the end of the century.” President Lula pressed world leaders to adopt ambitious climate pledges and keep adaptation at the heart of national strategies. He called for “a roadmap for humanity to overcome, in a just and planned way, its dependence on fossil fuels, reverse deforestation, and mobilize the resources needed to do so.” To back that vision, he announced a new fund to support energy transitions in developing countries, financed by revenues from oil exploration. The Leaders’ Summit, held on November 6 and 7, has already mobilized US$5.5 billion for the Tropical Forests Forever Facility – a fund designed to reward nations for protecting rainforests. Other collective commitments include recognizing Indigenous land rights, quadrupling sustainable fuel production, and linking climate action to the fight against hunger, poverty, and environmental racism. Bringing COP30 to the heart of the Amazon was, in Lula’s words, “a difficult but necessary task,” giving the world a chance to witness the realities of the planet’s most biodiverse biome—home to more than 50 million people and 400 Indigenous groups. “May the serenity of the forest inspire the clarity of thought needed to see what must be done,” he said. COP30 President, André Corrêa do Lago, presiding over the official opening of the summit, urged delegates to make this the “COP of implementation, adaptation, and economic integration of climate policy – and above all, the COP that listens to and believes in science”. He recognized the crucial role of Indigenous Peoples as guardians of the Amazon, the region now at the centre of the world’s attention. Meanwhile, the Barbados-based Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) said against the backdrop of a devastating hurricane season that once again underscored the region’s extreme vulnerability, it is taking will take the Caribbean’s climate agenda to the global stage. The region’s premier financial institution ill lead and participate in a series of events, high level discussions and bilateral engagements aimed at securing greater access to concessional climate finance and strengthening partnerships for sustainable development. “The Caribbean’s climate reality has never been clearer or more urgent,” CDB President Daniel Best said, adding that this intensified engagement reflects both the urgency and opportunity of the moment “The recent passage of Hurricane Melissa has underscored what we’ve been warning for years: without predictable, concessional finance, small island states cannot keep pace with escalating climate impacts. “COP30 is one of the most consequential arenas for advancing our case for climate justice and fair financing, and the Caribbean Development Bank will ensure our region’s voice is heard.” At COP30, the CDB said that it strategically engage governments, international partners, and private investors to deepen partnerships and advocate for increased concessional financing and innovative mechanisms to mobilise resources for the region. On Monday, November 17, CDB will co-host three side events that reflect key priorities for climate action and resilience in the Caribbean. The first session, “Leveraging Private Sector Financing for Transport and Energy Sector Transformation in the Caribbean,” will explore strategies to unlock private capital through blended finance models, risk-sharing instruments, and innovative partnerships to accelerate investment in renewable energy and sustainable transport systems. A discussion on “Agriculture and Food Security in the Caribbean: Scaling Innovative Solutions for Climate-Resilient Agriculture” will spotlight climate-smart agricultural practices and investment opportunities that can strengthen food security and reduce the region’s dependence on imports. CDB is also collaborating with the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF), the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) and the CREWS Secretariat to turn attention to disaster preparedness with a panel on “Climate Information and Early Warning Systems for Latin America and the Caribbean”. That discussion will explore initiatives by the three institutions to finance and implement early warning systems for the region. “CDB’s agenda at COP30 underscores our approach to climate action, which is practical, innovative, and built on partnerships. The Caribbean is helping itself by developing our own solutions to protect lives, preserve livelihoods and transform our energy, transport and agriculture systems to secure our future, but we need the global community to stand with us,” Best said. CDB said that it is targeting 30-35 per cent of its resources to climate finance demonstrating its commitment to helping Borrowing Member Countries (BMC) adapt to the accelerating climate crisis. “The Bank is also better positioned to deliver transformative regional interventions through a recent increase in its GCF financing threshold to US$250 million and its new Climate Change Project Preparation Fund, both of which will help countries design and finance concrete, high-impact projects faster and more effectively,” it added. (Photo by PATRICIA DE MELO MOREIRA / AFP) International News, Latest News, Sports November 11, 2025 Cristiano Ronaldo says 2026 World Cup ‘definitely’ his last RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (AFP) — Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo on Tuesday said next year’s World Cup would be his last as he winds down one of the all-time great careers. The 40-year-old forward, with more than 950 club and international goals, also said he would retire from football in “one or two years”. “Definitely, yes,” he told a Saudi forum by video link, when asked if 2026 would be his World Cup swansong. “I’m gonna be 41 years old and I think it will be the moment.” Ronaldo, who began a lucrative stint at Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr in 2023, also elaborated on comments last week when he said he would retire “soon”. “Let’s be honest, when I mean soon, it’s probably one or two years I’ll still be at the game,” he said. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner is targeting a sixth World Cup next year. He came closest to lifting the trophy in 2006, when Portugal lost to France in the semi-finals. Portugal have yet to qualify for the 2026 tournament in the USA, Canada and Mexico, but can secure their spot if they beat Ireland on Thursday. Ronaldo joined Al Nassr after leaving Manchester United for a second time in late 2022, a move that heralded a influx of late-career stars to the oil-rich kingdom. Saudi Arabia, which is spending big on sports and entertainment as part of its economic diversification plan, was named as host of the 2034 World Cup last December. China emissions flat in third quarter as solar surges: Study

PARIS: China's CO2 emissions remained flat in the third quarter as power generation from solar energy surged and electric car use continued to grow, a study showed on Tuesday.Emissions from the world's biggest polluter have now been flat or falling for 18 straight months, said the analysis published by climate news specialist Carbon Brief."After the first three quarters of the year, China's CO2 emissions in 2025 are now finely balanced between a small fall or rise, depending on what happens in the last quarter," said Lauri Myllyvirta, lead analyst at the Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air."A drop in the full-year total became much more likely after September, which recorded an approximately three percent drop in emissions year-on-year," said Myllyvirta, who is also a senior fellow at the Asia Society Policy Institute. The new analysis, which is based on official Chinese data, comes as the UN's COP30 climate conference kicked off in Brazil on Monday."While an emission increase or decrease of one percent or less might not make a huge difference in an objective sense, it has heightened symbolic meaning," Myllyvirta said."China's policymakers have left room for emissions to increase for several more years, leaving the timing of the peak open," he added.Emissions from the power sector, China's dominant source of CO2, remained flat in the third quarter despite strong demand for electricity, Myllyvirta said.Electricity generation from solar energy rose 46 percent while wind grew 11 percent compared to the same period last year.Emissions from transport fuel dropped by five percent, with declines also in cement and steel production.Oil demand and emissions grew elsewhere by 10 percent as the production of plastics and other chemicals surged, the analysis found. In September, China issued its first-ever absolute targets for cutting planet-warming gases.Under the new plan, China will reduce economy-wide emissions by seven to 10 percent by 2035 relative to the year of the country's peak emissions, believed to be 2025.China had previously pledged to peak its carbon output before 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060, without ever previously setting near-term numerical targets for total emissions reductions.

SpaceX adds 29 more satellites to Starlink constellation in Florida launch

SpaceX successfully launched 29 Starlink satellites into low orbit from the Florida coast on Tuesday, November 11. The mission marked the successful landing of the Falcon 9’s stage on a drone ship in the Atlantic Ocean, sending another batch of its Starlink internet satellites from Florida’s Space Coast. Meanwhile, the rocket made a vertical rocket-assisted landing as it returned to earth as planned 8.5 minutes later. It has been observed that this was the third flight for the booster designated 1096. Keeping in line with the antecedent expeditions, the first launch carried NASA’s IMAP space-weather mission and a batch of Amazon’s Project Kuiper broadband satellites. The Falcon 9’s upper stage carried the 29 Starlink satellites to LEO (Low earth Orbit) where they were deployed as planned about 65 minutes after launch. Yesterday's launch was the 144th Falcon 9 mission of 2025, and the 104th of the year dedicated to constructing the Starlink mega-constellation. Space X has also launched five suborbital test flights of its Starship mega rocket this year, and the company is maintaining an accelerated deployment pace crucial to realizing the potential and global coverage of its Starlink broadband constellation. Space X has launched five suborbital test flights of its Starship mega rocket this year. In addition, the record marks that the previous highs were 132 Falcon 9 launches and 138 total launches, both set in 2024. The booster from the recent launch conducted an autonomous landing on a drone ship in the Atlantic Ocean in just over eight minutes.

Princess Anne kicks off barracks relay with a bang

Princess Anne brought her trademark energy and down to earth charm to Australia on Tuesday, helping mark the 100th anniversary of the Royal Australian Corps of Signals. At Gallipoli Barracks in Brisbane, the Princess Royal even got hands on, starting a relay race for serving members proving that royal duties don’t always mean standing still. Her first visit to Queensland in eleven years won hearts among soldiers, Qantas passengers, and local politicians alike, with those meeting her describing the senior royal as refreshingly approachable. She also laid a wreath and met with current and former armed forces personnel and their families, underscoring her long-standing dedication to military service. The spirit of Veterans Day stretched far beyond Australia. In France, President Emmanuel Macron led a wreath-laying ceremony on the Champs-Elysées at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, while in the UK, Princess Catherine led a reflective ceremony at Staffordshire’s National Memorial Arboretum. Even the next generation got involved, Prince William delivered a virtual message to UK children, emphasizing remembrance as a way to honour courage, carry forward stories of service, and foster empathy and responsibility. Veterans were also celebrated beyond the royal events. The team at AFC Urgent Care paid tribute, sharing, “Your courage, dedication, and sacrifice inspire us every day,” while extending a special nod to Princess Anne for her service. While Anne kicked things off down under, the rest of the royal family was out in force in the UK. King Charles and Queen Camilla, joined by Princes William and Edward and the Duchess of Gloucester, hosted a Windsor Castle reception for Pacific veterans, while Camilla, William, and Kate participated in commemorations across the country.
