Job TypeRegularRAND is seeking an Accountant to support financial transactions and reporting within the Finance & Accounting department.DutiesResponsibilities include journal entries, general ledger account reconciliations, fluctuation analysis, preparation of management reports, quarterly/annual financial statements, rollforwards, and revenue recognition. Additional responsibilities include compiling and preparing supporting documentation and schedules for audit requests, and researching, compiling, and analyzing data for projects/reports as needed.Basic QualificationsExperience and understanding of accounting transactions requiredAbility to adapt quickly and learn new tasks independentlyExcellent communication, writing, and analytical skillsAbility to organize workflow in an efficient mannerAptitude to perform detailed work with a high degree of accuracyProficiency using MS Office suite requiredStrong Excel skills with experience with large data sets requiredPreferred QualificationsExperience in non-profit accounting strongly a plusExperience with the Workday ERP, a plusEducationMinimum BS/BA in Finance, Business or AccountingCPA / or working towards CPA a plusExperienceMinimum of 1 year experience related to Business or Accounting requiredLocationSanta Monica - hybrid work arrangement (2-3 days in Santa Monica office)Positions OpenOneSalary Range: $64,400 - $96,100RAND considers a variety of factors when formulating an offer, including but not limited to, the specific role and associated responsibilities; a candidate’s work experience, education/training, skills, expertise; and internal equity. The salary range includes base pay plus RAND’s sabbatic pay (which provides additional compensation above base pay when vacation is taken).
