Business Intelligence (BI) Executive

Job BriefWe are seeking a hands-on and business-oriented Business Intelligence Analyst to join our data team. This role is ideal for someone with solid BI experience who is ready to take ownership of reporting and analytics initiatives, particularly within the Insurance or Financial Services industry.Job ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain dashboards and reports using Power BI and SAP Business ObjectsDevelop and optimize complex SQL queries (SQL Server / MySQL) for data extraction, transformation, and analysisSupport regulatory and management reporting, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and audit traceabilityWork closely with stakeholders (Finance, Risk, Operations, Compliance) to translate business requirements into data solutionsCollaborate with data engineering teams on data modelling, ETL processes (SSIS), and workflow orchestration (Airflow)Ensure proper data validation, reconciliation, and documentation for reporting processesAutomate recurring reports and improve existing BI processes for efficiency and scalabilityIdentify trends, anomalies, and actionable insights to support business and strategic decisionsPrepare clear technical and functional documentation for developed solutionsJob RequirementsBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or related discipline2–5 years of relevant experience as a BI Analyst / Data Analyst in Insurance, Banking, or Financial InstitutionsExperience handling regulatory reporting or working in a regulated environment (e.g., BNM reporting) is highly preferredExperience working with structured data in enterprise data warehouse environmentsTechnical SkillsStrong hands-on experience with:Microsoft SQL ServerMySQLExperience in:SSIS (ETL development)Apache Airflow (workflow orchestration)Power BI (DAX, data modelling, dashboard design)SAP Business ObjectsStrong understanding of:Data warehousing concepts (star schema, fact/dimension modelling)ETL processes and data pipelinesData quality controls and reconciliation processesBasic scripting knowledge (Python) is an added advantageSoft Skills & CompetenciesStrong analytical mindset with attention to detailComfortable handling large datasets with high accuracy requirementsAble to communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholdersProactive, self-driven, and able to work independently with minimal supervisionAble to manage multiple reporting deadlines, especially in regulatory environmentsStrong sense of accountability and ownershipDiversity & Inclusion CommitmentThe Company is committed to providing equal employment to all individuals regardless of their race, colour, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, marital status or any other characteristic protected by applicable laws.We try make sure everyone has a fair chance to work with us, no matter where they’re from or who they are.
