WANTED: A JOURNALIST WHO THINKS LIKE A BANKER AND WRITES LIKE A POETThe Examiner — Sri Lanka’s first subscription-based digital newspaper — is seeking a writer to launch and lead a weekly column that dissects the island’s business and economic affairs with clarity, rigour and wit.We’re looking for someone who can be plugged-in enough to hear the rumours, dig and dig until they’re triple-checked, and who can interrogate financial statements to give the story context. You’ll explain not just what happened in the markets, but why it matters — and do so in style. In the process, you’ll hold a mirror up for Sri Lanka’s business world to examine itself. You should:Have a sharp understanding of business, finance or economics Be comfortable talking with everyone; from CEOs to factory workersWrite crisply, with insight and styleBe comfortable turning complex data into arresting prose.Care deeply about accuracy, context, and language.You’ll:Publish the week’s defining business article, read by Sri Lanka’s business and policy decision-makers + the wider public. Work in an ambitious newsroom reviving Sri Lanka’s print media by reinventing journalism for the digital age.Recovering economists, equity analysts, and business journalists are especially encouraged to apply.
