Job Description

A privately held investment entity is seeking a strategic and execution-oriented Chief Investment Officer (CIO) to oversee investment strategy, portfolio construction, and multi-asset operations.The CIO will be responsible for portfolio oversight, investment accounting, and performance reporting, working closely with senior principals and external partners to ensure disciplined governance and sustainable long-term performance.This position combines strategic leadership with hands-on operational and analytical responsibilities across public and private markets, fixed income, alternatives, real assets, and emerging asset classes.Key Responsibilities:Develop and execute long-term strategic and tactical asset allocation frameworks aligned with organizational objectives and risk parameters.Translate strategy into actionable portfolio construction, asset selection, and allocation decisions.Manage diversified, multi-asset portfolios focused on risk-adjusted performance across various asset types and geographies.Conduct ongoing portfolio monitoring, performance attribution, and rebalancing based on market conditions and macroeconomic outlook.Oversee investment operations, accounting, and reporting processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across all asset classes.Implement a consolidated reporting framework that integrates multiple entities and asset types.Establish and maintain a coherent chart of accounts, data tagging, and classification systems for enhanced transparency and reporting precision.Supervise valuation and performance measurement for public and private investments, including complex and illiquid holdings.Lead initiatives to automate reporting workflows and integrate portfolio and accounting systems to improve efficiency and data integrity.Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure sound governance, transparency, and alignment of interests.Oversee audit preparation, internal control frameworks, and regulatory compliance requirements.Support investment and valuation committees through analysis, documentation, and performance insights.Requirements:Education & Credentials: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, or related discipline. Advanced professional designations (CFA, CAIA, CPA) are an advantage.Experience: Min 7 years of experience in investment management, portfolio construction, or accounting across multiple asset classes. Exposure to both public and private markets preferred.Technical Expertise: Proficiency in investment accounting, capital structures, valuation methodologies, and fund operations.Systems & Tools: Advanced Excel and data analytics skills, with familiarity in portfolio management or reporting platforms.Leadership: Demonstrated ability to manage teams, implement structured processes, and deliver operational excellence.Interested candidates may apply through the application system or send it to sulinglew@morganmckinley.com.
