As an equal-opportunity workplace and affirmative-action employer, we celebrate and support a diverse workplace for the benefit of all: our employees, customers and communities.ResponsibilitiesThis position will comply with bank and investor guidelines in the collection of delinquent portfolio and investor consumer real estate loans.Essential ResponsibilitiesWork and maintain past due portfolio consumer real estate loans assigned queue within collections module to reduce mortgage delinquency, apply funds to delinquent accounts, and determine need for appropriate assistance based on communications by telephone, written, or on an isolated occasion in personCollect past due portfolio consumer real estate loans by telephone, or on an isolated occasion in personCollect past due secondary market and guarantor, such as Federal Housing Administration (FHA), State of New York Mortgage Agency (SONYMA), Federal National Mortgage Association (FNMA), Mortgage Partnership Finance Program (MPF), Mortgage Asset Program (MAP), Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (FHLMC), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Department of Veteran’s Affairs (VA) mortgages by telephone and written communication according to each appropriate investor’s guidelines. May meet directly with past due borrower at times.Handle inbound and outbound collection calls professionally and efficientlyPrepare and mail notifications to delinquent borrowers per investor, guarantor, state, insurer, or bank guidelinesUtilize collections module to document all collection efforts maintaining accurate recordsComply with applicable regulations including the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, Service member Civil Relief Act, Dodd-Frank Act (UDAAP) as they relate to consumer real estate loan collections.Comply with federal bankruptcy laws and regulations to ensure accounts are handled according to planMaintain proficient knowledge of, and demonstrate ongoing compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to this position, ensure ongoing adherence to policies, procedures, and internal controls, and meet all training requirements in a timely mannerPerform other related duties as assigned or directedAncillary DutiesAs an integral member of the Consumer Real Estate Servicing Department, this position is responsible to assist the department, as well as the Company, in achieving their goalsQualificationsEducation, Training and Requirements:High School Diploma or GED requiredAll applicants must be 18 years of age or olderSkillsKeyboardingPC proficiency including WindowsExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsWorking knowledge of bank policies and proceduresFamiliarity with collection, foreclosure and bankruptcy laws; fair debt collection practices and servicing requirements of various secondary market investors and government agenciesMust be able to consistently demonstrate company core values: integrity, excellence, teamwork, and humilityExperienceCollection experience highly preferredMortgage loan processing preferredOther Job InformationHours: 40 hours/week (some overtime including nights, weekends & holidays)Compensation: Commensurate with experience plus potential for annual merit increase.
