Data Engineer

This is a remote position.Overview: We are seeking a motivated and analytical Data Engineer to help design, build, and optimize data systems that power decision-making and innovation. In this role, you’ll work with large datasets, develop efficient data pipelines, and ensure the integrity and accessibility of data across platforms. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex data challenges, optimizing performance, and collaborating across technical and business teams.Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes for ingesting, transforming, and loading data from various sources Build and manage data models, warehouses, and lakes to support analytics and reporting needs Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and quality across multiple systems and environments Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and software engineers to define data requirements and improve data accessibility Monitor data systems for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency, implementing improvements where needed Automate data workflows and improve data infrastructure using modern tools and frameworks Document data processes, architectures, and standards for internal use and future scalability RequirementsQualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience) Solid understanding of SQL and relational database design Experience with at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, or Scala) Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and distributed data processing (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) Understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT concepts, and data warehousing principles Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail BenefitsPreferred Attributes: Experience with workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Prefect, Dagster) Familiarity with containerization and DevOps tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines) Knowledge of data governance, privacy, and security best practices Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
