Your roleJoin our Solution Team to build secure, scalable data platforms and integrations for mission-critical Defence use cases. You will design and operate data flows that connect operational systems with analytics and AI, enabling fast, reliable decisions.What you’ll doDesign, build, and run robust batch and streaming data pipelines across cloud and on‑prem environmentsDevelop integrations and APIs: REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, and event‑driven solutionsImplement authentication and federated identity: OIDC, OAuth, SAML, KerberosEngineer for security by default: certificate management, secrets handling, and end‑to‑end encryptionShape platform architecture: reverse proxy patterns, load balancing, VMs, and Kubernetes-based deploymentsModel and optimize datasets in SQL Server, PostgreSQL (or similar), and data lakesDevelop ETL/ELT with Apache Spark and Databricks (or equivalent)Enable BI & Analytics with Qlik, partnering with analysts and domain expertsSupport AI use cases (LLM, object detection, text analytics) with reliable data foundationsApply CI/CD, Git, and DevOps practices for high-quality, repeatable deliveryMonitor, observe, and continuously improve data services for performance, cost, and resilienceCollaborate closely with product, platform, security, and stakeholder teams to deliver clear outcomesYour profileWe are seeking a motivated individual who is outcome-oriented, collaborative, product-minded and autonomous. You are motivated and committed to build dependable solutions in the Defence domain.We believe you have:3–5 years of experience as a Data Engineer (or similar), delivering production data solutionsBSc/MSc in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent experienceProficient in Python and SQLSecurity mindset: certificate management and end to end encryptionDatastores: SQL Server, PostgreSQL (or similar), and data lakesETL/ELT: Apache Spark, Databricks (or equivalent)Cloud: Azure, AWS, or GCP (experience with services like Databricks, BigQuery is preferred)Meritorious if you also have:Strong integration background: REST, SOAP, JSON, XML; event driven architecturesExperienced with CI/CD, Git, and DevOps environmentsJavaScript, Bash, and PowerShellHands on with identity and access: OIDC, OAuth, SAML, KerberosPlatform skills: reverse proxies, load balancing, VMs, and KubernetesAI awareness: familiarity with LLMs, object detection, and text analyticsThis position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection.
