We have an exciting opportunity for a Permanent Full Time, Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response (EPRR) Officer to join Portsmouth and Southampton City Councils in the Joint Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response Team.About The TeamYou will be joining a highly regarded team of experienced and innovative officers who are focussed on providing an exceptional level of service to our communities and partner agencies.About The RoleThis is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and capable individual looking to make an impact and develop their career within an outstanding team. If you feel you have the necessary background, experience, and skills to undertake this demanding role we would love to hear from you.You will be well-versed in partnership working within a local resilience forum and health resilience partnerships, and with the legislative framework for UK emergency preparedness, response and recovery and will have practical experience of delivering high quality work in this field for a local authority or other Civil Contingencies Act responder.You will be educated to degree level in a relevant / related subject (or have an equivalent level of knowledge gained from EPRR professional experience) and have the skills and abilities to lead on large areas of work within the team’s ambitious work programme.The ability to interact and remain focussed within the difficult and stressful environment of an emergency response, sometimes for long and unsociable hours, will be essential.In an emergency you will be able to lead, motivate and inspire members of the Senior Leadership Team, Council staff, staff from partner agencies and the voluntary sector, in a fast paced, highly complex and pressured environment.For further information about this role please view the job description.About YouWe are looking for a highly skilled, adaptable, and motivated professional to join our successful team at a challenging time as we deliver our core legal responsibilities on behalf of Southampton City Council and Portsmouth City Council.What We Can Offer YouSalary: The salary band for this role is £41,771 - £46,141 p.
