Fashion – Product Design – Assistant

Role Overview The Fashion – Product Design – Assistant supports the design and development of new fashion collections, from concept to production. This role works closely with designers, product developers, and production teams to assist with trend research, material sourcing, sample coordination, and technical documentation. The position requires creativity, strong attention to detail, and a keen understanding of current market trends and consumer preferences. The Fashion – Product Design – Assistant plays an essential role in transforming creative ideas into commercially viable products while maintaining brand identity and quality standards.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in the design and development of seasonal collections, including apparel, accessories, or footwear.Support trend forecasting and market research to identify new design directions, materials, and color palettes.Create and update technical sketches, design boards, and product specifications using design software.Coordinate sample development with suppliers and manufacturers, ensuring adherence to design intent and quality requirements.Prepare materials for design presentations, internal reviews, and buyer meetings.Maintain accurate records of design files, sample status, and product development timelines.Communicate with production and sourcing teams to ensure smooth transition from design to manufacturing.Assist in fabric and trim selection, testing, and quality review.Monitor competitors and industry trends to support innovation and product differentiation.Collaborate with the merchandising and marketing teams to align design concepts with brand strategy and market needs.Support the creative team in organizing photoshoots, lookbooks, and promotional materials when required.Qualifications and RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, Product Development, or a related discipline.0–3 years of experience in fashion design, product development, or related fields (internship experience accepted).Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and design tools such as CLO3D or CorelDRAW.Strong understanding of garment construction, fabrics, and production processes.Excellent sense of color, proportion, and aesthetic detail.Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with an eye for precision.Good communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Passion for fashion trends, sustainability, and innovative design solutions.Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced design and production environments.Familiarity with PLM systems and technical specification sheets is a plus.Summary The Fashion – Product Design – Assistant plays a vital role in bridging creativity and production, ensuring that design concepts are developed into high-quality products that resonate with customers.
