We focus on providing exceptional quality, first-class service, and an exquisite range of menu options that are sure to impress.Job DescriptionThe General Ledger Accountant performs a variety of routine and non-routine accounting functions with significant focus on General Ledger accounting. This position is also responsible for supporting the Financial Accounting Manager in conducting key activities such as month-end and quarter-end close, Fixed Assets, Account Reconciliations and Audits. You will be recording and processing a vast range of financial transactions. A General Ledger Accountant is essential for financial reporting, and requires liaison with various departments and individuals across the DO & CO family.To build and maintain excellent working relationships with other department ensuring the provision of a positive and professional servicePrepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and ensure data accuracy. Forward thinking administrator always looking to exceed targets and expectations whilst maintaining the collectiveness of the team and culture of DO & COMaintaining good working relationships with all DO & CO family members as well as our partners, vendors, and other stakeholdersSupporting Financial Accounting Manager with daily tasks as requiredConducting accurate record keeping for audit trial and reporting purposes as well as feeding into month end closure activitiesMaintaining and updating the fixed assets database and intercompany recharge managementPrepare, review and submit VAT returns in compliance with regional and international requirements. Monitor VAT transactions and ensure accurate reportingConduct internal audit to ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational policiesLiaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies during inspections and auditsManage and oversee financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standardsPerform reconciliations and analysis of accounts to ensure data integritySupporting the team with ad hoc requests as and when neededQualificationsBSc in Accounting, Finance or Mathematics or relevant experience in a Financial Administrator/ Assistant roleReady to roll up your sleeves and do what is needed to give our partners the best service with a problem-solving mentalityMotivation to deliver exceptional serviceWell presented, professional individual with a can-do, positive attitude that indulges in team successSelf-motivation, resilience, and a positive change champion for DO & CO in a fast-paced environment that requires flexibility and adaptingExperience in dealing with customs would be an advantageMeticulous attention to detail and precise record keeping skillsBuild strong relationships within the DO & CO Family, creating a team spirit, encouraging them to be at their bestYou are a clear and engaging communicator, strong written and verbal English, and will use a variety of methods to keep the DO & CO Family well informed as well as internal and external stakeholdersFlexible in the way you think, making decisions efficiently and handling change to ensure everything we do is right for our partners and the DO & CO familyHighly proficient in excel with excellent working knowledge of accounting software packages and the ability to handle and integrate data sources, both manual and electronicGood working knowledge of UK tax, auditing, and commercial regulatory rulesAdditional InformationWe believe that our employees are the driving force behind our success and strive to create a positive and supportive work environment.
