This is a unique opportunity to join a business at the forefront of Australia’s renewable energy transition, backed by Wollemi Energy Group’s significant investment and ambitious growth pipeline.About the RoleReporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Head of Development and Acquisitions will lead MPower’s development division and drive the growth of its renewable energy portfolio through both greenfield development and strategic acquisition opportunities. You’ll oversee end-to-end project development, from origination through to ready-to-build status, whilst also managing the acquisition of projects that align with MPower’s strategic objectives.This is a senior leadership role with the opportunity to shape MPower’s development strategy, lead a high-performing team, and play a pivotal role in delivering Australia’s clean energy transition. In this role, you’ll:Lead the origination, assessment, and delivery of solar, battery, and hybrid development projects through to FID.Identify, evaluate, and execute acquisition opportunities for renewable energy assets.Oversee due diligence, project feasibility, and commercial modelling to support investment decisions.Manage stakeholder engagement, planning and permitting processes, and grid connection pathways.Mentor and develop a small, high-performing development team and manage external consultants.About YouBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or related discipline.Demonstrated success managing renewable energy projects from concept to ready-to-build.Strong commercial acumen and hands-on experience in project acquisition, due diligence, and transaction execution.Skilled in navigating planning, permitting, and regulatory frameworks in the Australian energy sector.Proven leadership experience with the ability to build and motivate cross-functional teams.Why Join MPower?This is a rare opportunity to join a growing Australian renewable energy company at an exciting stage of expansion, backed by significant investment from Wollemi Energy Group.
