Head of People and Learning & DevelopmentSalary: c. £120,000 plus packageLocation: London - 2 days a week in officeMiddlemore are currently partnering with a leading professional services organisation to hire a Head of People and Learning & Development. This is a pivotal appointment that will play a central role in shaping the future of the People function across the UK and Europe.Acting as a thought partner to the People & Culture Director, this role will lead and elevate the effectiveness of HR Operations, HR Business Partnering and Learning & Development, shaping strategy whilst providing hands-on leadership of a large, multi-disciplinary team.Key Responsibilities:Act as a trusted advisor and deputy to the People Director, developing and implementing the People strategy.Oversee HR Operations, HR Business Partnering and L&D across the UK and Europe.Improve user experience, drive operational consistency and enhance governance across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring scalable processes that support rapid expansion across Europe.Transform L&D from an operational training function into a future-focused, learning-centric capability.Build learning pathways, leadership development programmes and a clear succession and future-skills strategy aligned with a maturing “learning culture.”Lead a multidisciplinary team, providing coaching, capability-building and professional development.Reset the HRBP function’s credibility and strengthen its ability to operate strategically and commercially.Ideal Candidate Profile:The successful candidate will bring:Broad HR experience with a strong leaning toward talent, learning and organisational development.Significant European (or wider international) HR experience.A track record of improving user experience across HRBP, HR Operations and L&D functions.Experience in professional services, consulting, financial services, partnership-based environments or similar.High commercial awareness and comfort in fast-moving, growth-oriented settings.This is a rare opportunity for someone who can blend strategic insight with operational excellence, and who thrives in a fast-paced, creative and commercially minded environment.
