Location: Iasi, Romania| Department: People & Culture | Reports to: Chief People & Culture Officer Aareon/ Romanian Managing Director of CalcromAbout the RoleWe are seeking a dynamic and experienced Human Resources Generalist & Compliance Officer to lead and harmonize our HR operations, compliance, and office management activities. This role is pivotal in ensuring our people, processes, and culture evolve in alignment with both local and Group-level strategies.The ideal candidate combines hands-on HR management expertise with strong business acumen, system literacy (Workday, Peakon preferably), and a genuine growth and harmonization mindset — enabling seamless collaboration across countries and functions.Key ResponsibilitiesHuman Resources ManagementOversee the full employee lifecycle: recruitment, preselection, onboarding, development, retention, and offboarding.Act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees, fostering an open, collaborative, and performance-oriented culture.Manage and continuously improve compensation and benefits structures in alignment with Group policies and market standards.Drive professional development initiatives and training programs to strengthen leadership and technical capabilities.Maintain and evolve internal policies, ensuring compliance with local labor law and alignment with Group HR frameworks.Act as a Workday and Peakon enthusiast, ensuring data accuracy, workflow optimization, and insight generation through people analytics.Compliance & Data Protection (GDPR)Serve as the Data Protection Officer (DPO), ensuring full compliance with GDPR and local data privacy regulations.Lead compliance monitoring and reporting, collaborating with Group Compliance to embed ethical and transparent practices across processes.Ensure all HR procedures (hiring, data storage, documentation, and employee relations) meet legal and audit standards.Office & Operations ManagementCoordinate office activities and logistics, including business travel, meetings, events, and team-building initiatives.Manage relationships with suppliers and service providers, ensuring efficiency and quality across office operations.Oversee general administrative support and maintain smooth day-to-day office functioning.Finance & Cross-Functional CollaborationLiaise with Accounting and Finance on payroll, budgeting, and HR-related cost allocations.Ensure accurate and timely data exchange between HR, Finance, and Group controlling teams.Group Communication & AlignmentMaintain active communication with the Group People & Culture organization regarding global initiatives, events, and policies.Support Group-level projects related to Workday, Peakon, learning, engagement, and organizational development.Promote harmonization across entities, contributing to the “One Team” culture and shared ways of working.Profile & QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Law or related field.Minimum 5+ years of HR generalist experience, preferably in an international or matrix organization.Strong understanding of labor law, GDPR, and compliance frameworks.Proven experience with HR systems (Workday preferred) and engagement platforms (Peakon or similar).Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate across teams, cultures, and seniority levels.Proactive, structured, and solution-oriented mindset — balancing empathy with execution.Fluency in English required; German is optional but considered an asset.What We OfferA people-centered culture built on trust, collaboration, and continuous growth.The opportunity to shape and elevate HR operations in a fast-evolving, international environment.A key role at the intersection of business, people, and technology.Continuous learning and development opportunities through Group programs and modern HR systems.Mindset We’re Looking ForWe’re seeking someone who believes that HR is both a strategic enabler and a cultural architect — someone who thrives on collaboration, champions digital tools like Workday and Peakon, and sees transformation not as a challenge, but as an opportunity to grow together.
