Instrumentation and Control Engineer

Position SummaryThe ICSS Engineer is responsible for the design, integration, and implementation of the Integrated Control and Safety System for FPSO facilities. The role involves coordinating all aspects of control and safety systems—including DCS, ESD, F&G, and PMS—ensuring functionality, reliability, and compliance with project and industry standards.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, review, and implement ICSS architecture, system design, and configuration to meet project requirements.Prepare and review ICSS-related deliverables such as system block diagrams, control narratives, I/O lists, cause & effect diagrams, and network topology drawings.Interface and coordinate with vendors, clients, and other engineering disciplines for ICSS integration.Ensure seamless communication between various control systems (DCS, ESD, F&G, and subsystems such as turbomachinery control, metering, and package PLCs).Review and verify vendor documents for control and safety systems to ensure technical compliance with specifications and standards.Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and system commissioning.Participate in design reviews, HAZOP, SIL classification, and verification workshops.Ensure ICSS systems are designed for safe operation, cyber security compliance, and easy maintainability.Provide technical support during installation, pre-commissioning, and start-up activities.Assist in developing operation manuals and maintenance procedures related to ICSS.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering (or equivalent).Minimum 7–10 years of experience in ICSS engineering in the oil & gas industry, preferably with FPSO or offshore project experience.Strong knowledge of DCS, ESD, F&G, and PLC systems (e.g., ABB, Siemens, Honeywell, Yokogawa, Emerson, Schneider).Experienced in system integration between various control and safety systems.Familiar with relevant international standards (IEC 61508, IEC 61131, IEC 61850, ISO 13849, etc.).Experience in control and safety system logic development, configuration, and testing.Hands-on experience with network communication protocols (Modbus, OPC, Ethernet/IP, Profibus).Familiarity with cyber security requirements for control systems.
