Position SummaryThe Marine Systems Engineer is responsible for the design, analysis, and integration of marine systems for FPSO vessels, ensuring compliance with project specifications, class rules, and international maritime standards. The role covers systems such as ballast, bilge, inert gas, cargo offloading, seawater cooling, and other marine-related utilities critical to vessel operation and safety.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, review, and validate the design of marine and utility systems including ballast, bilge, inert gas, cargo handling, tank cleaning, seawater cooling, and firewater systems.Prepare and review design documents such as P&IDs, PFDs, hydraulic calculations, control philosophies, equipment datasheets, and system narratives.Ensure designs comply with class and statutory requirements (ABS, DNV, BV, IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL, etc.).Coordinate with structural, piping, electrical, and instrumentation teams to ensure system integration and interface consistency.Review vendor documents for marine equipment such as pumps, valves, compressors, tanks, and control systems.Support 3D model reviews to verify layout, maintainability, and operability of marine systems.Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, and design review meetings.Provide technical input during equipment procurement, fabrication, installation, commissioning, and sea trials.Ensure proper documentation, data management, and handover packages for marine systems.Support troubleshooting and optimization of marine systems during operations and modifications.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s Degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Naval Architecture.Minimum 7–10 years of marine systems engineering experience in offshore oil & gas or shipbuilding industries, preferably with FPSO projects.Strong knowledge of marine systems design, operation, and control.Familiar with classification society rules and international maritime regulations.Proficient in using engineering software such as AutoCAD, AVEVA Marine, or equivalent.Experience with hydraulic and flow simulation tools is an advantage.Good understanding of shipboard control and automation systems.Strong communication and coordination skills with multi-disciplinary teams.
