Inetum has forged strategic partnerships with 4 of the world's leading software publishers - Salesforce, ServiceNow, Microsoft and SAP - and is pursuing a dedicated acquisition strategy to become one of Europe's top 5 in these technologies, and offer the best expertise to its customers.Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Java Engineer to join a high-impact project focused on the AI-assisted migration of ~50 legacy banking applications from IBM WebSphere Portal (on-prem) to Liferay (AWS-based deployment).This role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about modernizing enterprise architectures and passionate about leveraging AI tools to supercharge software development.You’ll work alongside solution architects, DevOps, and migration experts to refactor, rebuild, and modernize legacy apps using AI-powered development environments and tools like Claude, CLine, and Cursor.QualificationsCollaborate on the migration strategy of Java applications from IBM WebSphere to Liferay.Analyze legacy applications, refactor and rebuild them using modern frameworks and cloud technologies.Integrate AI tools into the development lifecycle for enhanced productivity and smarter refactoring.Ensure high standards in code quality, scalability, and maintainability.Write and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.Partner with DevOps to build and maintain CI/CD pipelines tailored to the AWS environment.Support the definition of system architecture and lead its evolution throughout the project.What We're Looking For:Strong experience developing enterprise-level applications in Java (17/21).Proficiency in Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, Gradle, and relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, etc.).Experience with microservices architecture and cloud platforms (preferably AWS).Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito), and Git.Experience with containerization tools (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) is a plus.Solid understanding of system architecture, multithreading, and performance tuning.Familiarity with message brokers like Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis is a bonus.AI ExpertiseFamiliarity with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, or CLine — these should be your go-to for integrating AI into your work efficiently.Comfort working in AI-augmented development environments and adapting to their evolving capabilitiesBonus Skills:Previous experience in banking or financial services is a big plus.Exposure to Liferay and IBM WebSphere Portal (reading or porting from old modules).Understanding of AI-driven code migration strategies or prompt engineering for development assistanceBenefitsAdditional informationFull access to foreign language learning platformPersonalized access to tech learning platformsTailored workshops and trainings to sustain your growthMedical subscriptionMeal ticketsMonthly budget to allocate on flexible benefit platformAccess to 7 Card servicesWellbeing activities and gatherings
