Lawyer – Intellectual Property

The OpportunityWe are seeking a lawyer with experience or a strong interest in intellectual property, particularly trade marks, to join our thoughtful and skilled team. You’ll play a key role in helping clients protect, manage, and grow their IP assets in Australia and internationally.About the Role You will advise and support clients from a variety of industries, including:Advising on brand selection, clearance searches, and filing strategiesPreparing and prosecuting trade mark applications locally and globally, including responses to examination reportsAdvising on oppositions, removals, enforcement, and portfolio managementDrafting, reviewing, and negotiating a range of commercial agreements, including but not limited to licensing, assignment, co-existence, talent, and collaboration agreementsProviding practical guidance on brand protection, risk assessment, and IP strategyPresenting complex legal concepts clearly and succinctlyWhat You’ll Bring1–4 years post-admission experience with a background or strong interest in intellectual propertySolid skills in drafting, agreement review, and negotiationExcellent attention to detail and pride in the quality and presentation of your workStrong communication skills and a client-focused approachCommercial awareness and pragmatic problem-solvingConfidence in managing matters independently and within a teamCommitment to high professional standards and ongoing growthBenefitsVaried and interesting work with regular client contactOpportunities across domestic and international mattersSupport to develop autonomy and confidence in your practiceCareer progression as the practice growsCompetitive salary, constructive feedback, and focus on wellbeingWhy Bureau I.P?We deliver reliable, business-focused legal solutions, value exacting work, and take pride in authentic relationships.
