Production Line Supervisor (Shoe Manufacturing)

Location: Shoe Fabriek Ghana Ltd – 56 Kampala Street, Akropong-AkuapemReports To: Production ManagerSupervises: Line Operators and AssistantsPosition SummaryThe Production Line Supervisor will oversee a specific section of the shoe manufacturing process, ensuring that daily production targets are achieved efficiently and with consistent quality. Reporting directly to the Production Manager, the Supervisor will manage line workers, maintain quality standards, minimize waste, and support continuous improvement initiatives in line with company goals.Key Responsibilities1. Production SupervisionSupervise day-to-day operations of the assigned production line (e.g., cutting, stitching, assembly, or finishing).Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining efficiency and minimizing downtime.Monitor workers’ performance, attendance, and adherence to safety and quality protocols.Coordinate with maintenance and logistics teams to ensure smooth workflow and material availability.2. Quality ControlInspect products at various stages to ensure compliance with company and customer specifications.Identify defects or process deviations and take corrective action immediately.Support the Quality Assurance (QA) team in maintaining standards and documenting non-conformities.Promote a zero-defect culture through training and real-time feedback.3. Process OptimizationRecommend improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.Support implementation of lean production principles (5S, Kaizen, etc.).Track and report on key production metrics such as output, rework rate, and line efficiency.4. Team LeadershipSupervise and motivate line operators to achieve daily targets and maintain discipline.Conduct on-the-job training to improve skill levels and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).Promote teamwork, accountability, and safe working practices across the line.5. Coordination and ReportingCollaborate with other line supervisors to align production goals and resolve bottlenecks.Report production data, downtime, and quality issues to the Production Manager.Participate in daily and weekly production meetings to review progress and address challenges.Qualifications and ExperienceEducationDiploma or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.ExperienceMinimum 3–5 years of experience in shoe manufacturing or related production environments.Strong understanding of footwear production processes (cutting, stitching, assembly, finishing).Proven track record in line supervision, quality control, and process improvement.Technical & Soft SkillsFamiliarity with Lean Manufacturing and Quality Assurance standards.Hands-on experience with production reporting tools and basic computer proficiency.Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Daily production output vs. target.Defect rate and rework percentage.Line efficiency and downtime reduction.Worker productivity and safety compliance.Adherence to production schedules.Reporting LineReports to: Production ManagerSupervises: Line Operators and Assistants
