This hands-on leadership role is key to coordinating personnel, equipment, and processes in line with NSW Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation, operational standards, and business objectives.One AM Shift Team Leader - 6:30am - 14:30pmOne PM Shift Team Leader - 14:30pm - 22:00pmKey ResponsibilitiesSupervise, coordinate, and lead a team of production workers to meet daily manufacturing targets.Monitor performance, quality, and productivity across assigned production lines or shifts.Ensure adherence to NSW WHS legislation (Work Health and Safety Act 2011 & WHS Regulation 2017) and promote a safe working environment.Conduct regular safety checks and implement control measures for risks such as plant, manual handling, and forklift operations.Deliver team briefings, allocate work tasks, and manage staffing levels based on production demands.Ensure compliance with company quality assurance processes and escalate non-conformance issues.Train and mentor production staff in work procedures, safety practices, and continuous improvement methods.Coordinate with maintenance teams for prompt resolution of equipment issues.Maintain accurate records of production output, downtime, and incident reports.Contribute to lean manufacturing or 5S initiatives to improve workflow and reduce waste.Support onboarding of new staff and participate in performance management processes.Act as a key liaison between front-line workers and management.Personal Qualities, Attributes and Required SkillsWork experience:3–5 years’ experience in a manufacturing or warehousing environment, with 1–2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.Proven ability to lead teams in high-paced production environments.Experience working with manufacturing equipment, shift operations, and production planning.Exposure to lean principles, continuous improvement, or OHS compliance initiatives.Qualifications/Education:Cert III or IV in Manufacturing, Process Plant Operations, Competitive Systems & Practices (Lean), or similar – highly desirableCert IV in Leadership & Management – advantageousUnderstanding of WHS obligations under the NSW Work Health and Safety Act – essentialFamiliarity with Quality Management Systems (e.g., ISO 9001) – beneficialPersonal Attributes:Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and direct others.Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.Basic computer proficiency (MS Excel, reporting tools, time & attendance systems).High attention to detail, particularly in quality control and documentation.Capacity to remain calm under pressure and manage conflicting priorities.Qualifications and Licences RequiredForklift LicenceAdditional RequirementsProficient in English, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both verbal and written formats, including technical discussions, reporting, documentation, and correspondence with colleagues and clients. Capable of understanding complex instructions, participating in meetings, and preparing detailed reports or presentations.
