Job Description: Project Controller / Project PlannerPosition SummaryThe Project Controller / Project Planner is responsible for overseeing project cost, schedule, and controls activities across the project portfolio. This role ensures that project financials, timelines, and reporting processes are accurate, transparent, and aligned with organizational standards. The position also supports project teams and contractors by maintaining planning systems, driving effective change management, and enabling informed decision-making.Key ResponsibilitiesCost & Schedule ControlsCreate, maintain, and continuously improve the Project Controls Plan.Manage commercial interactions with contractors and project teams, including contract administration and alignment of control systems.Verify that contractor project control systems meet corporate requirements and that cost control tools are properly applied.Establish and implement project controls procedures, financial processes, and training/workshops for project teams and contractors.Prepare recurring project control deliverables such as cost reports, cash flow forecasts, change logs, risk registers, and monthly project status reports.Lead and coordinate the Change Management Process.Review contractor invoices and support the approval workflow for purchase requisitions.Maintain organized, audit-ready documentation related to project costs, contracts, and project support services.Project PlanningSupport the site-based Planning Lead in all planning and scheduling activities.Monitor the overall project portfolio to ensure schedules and key milestones are achieved.Provide planning and scheduling support during project meetings and deliver regular progress updates.Develop, manage, and update project schedules in alignment with the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), ensuring accuracy for monitoring, forecasting, and control.Ensure compliance with the project Change Control Process, coordinating and validating schedule impacts from change notes and change orders.Ensure that contractors and subcontractors meet all planning requirements and that these requirements are integrated into project systems.Prepare planning and scheduling reports for monthly reporting cycles.
