We are looking for a Quality Manager for our client for a full time permanent opportunity based out of Canmore, Alberta. Role: Permanent Full timeLocation: Canmore, Alberta- Onsite (Relocation allowance provided based on candidate location)Overview:Accountable for overseeing the Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) departments, the Quality Manager establishes and enforces well-defined policies and procedures to maintain the highest product quality standards. This role ensures adherence to regulatory, customer, and internal quality requirements while providing senior management with guidance on regulatory updates and their organizational impact.Duties: Create, review, and maintain accurate QA records for all formulas, physical testing, and specifications.Review and approve product labels, packaging, and promotional materials to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including requirements for ingredient listings, warnings, claims, and cosmetic allergen labeling.Assess the safety, efficacy, and regulatory status of cosmetic ingredients, ensuring they meet applicable regulations.Request and retrieve technical information such as specifications, drawings, and standards from various sources to support the resolution of quality issues as needed.Oversee and approve the release of raw materials, bulk, and finished goods according to established procedures.Initiate and manage continuous quality improvement programs, targeting enhancements in products and manufacturing processes.Develop and review technical documents to support product development projects (e.g., specifications, content disclosures, manufacturing batch sheets).Monitor and interpret cosmetic regulations globally (such as US FDA, Health Canada, and EU) to enforce compliance.Direct and plan activities related to applying and maintaining quality standards for manufacturing processes (compounding, finished goods, and fulfillment).Ensure inspection, testing, and evaluation standards are properly followed.Oversee timely investigation of Out-of-Specification production, implementing root cause analysis as well as corrective and preventive actions to ensure ongoing compliance.Investigate and resolve customer complaints associated with product quality or safety concerns.Manage regulatory documentation, conduct ingredient compliance reviews, and maintain product registration dossiers.Coordinate and manage product recalls, collaborating with relevant departments and regulatory agencies as required.Represent the company during regulatory inspections and audits, ensuring compliance and addressing any findings.Carry out special projects and assignments in support of the unit or facility, as directed by the Director of Research, Innovation & Quality, or the Chief Scientific Officer (CSO).Requirements:Brings at least 5 years of supervisory and leadership experience within Quality departments in the Pharmaceutical, Cosmetics, or Natural Health Products industries.Demonstrates comprehensive understanding and hands-on experience with Health Canada cosmetic regulations.Possesses an educational background in science (such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmacy, Biology) or a related quality discipline.Skilled in guiding teams to achieve and uphold GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) best practices.Comfortable working in environments with strong scents.
