The Safety & Health Officer(SHO) will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of all personnel involved in the Large Scale Solar project. This position, based in Sandakan and Kota Marudu, requires a proactive approach to safety, adherence to regulatory standards, and the ability to foster a culture of safety awareness among all project participants.Job Description:To establish, communicate, enforce, maintain, monitor, and review company environmental, safety and health (ESH) policies, safety plans, emergency response plans, procedures, rules, and regulations.To ensure the company meets its statutory obligations and compliance with ESH rules and regulations in its operations.To inform the company of any changes in the ESH rules and regulations that may impact the company, and develop action plans or make necessary adjustment to the company’s ESHTo lead, train and work with other safety personnel in the company to carry out duties and responsibilities in a coordinated manner, aligned with the company policies, procedures, and standards.To establish ESH Committee and regular meeting schedule, devise agendas, approve and distribute the meeting minutes and submit proposed action plans for management approval.To coordinate, implement, monitor and document the action plans after management approval before the assigned deadlines.To regularly review potential hazard and risk from general operations and project-specific operations, and to propose action plans to eliminate or minimise the identified hazards and risks.To plan, coordinate, organise, conduct, and document ESH trainings to relevant stakeholders.To establish, enforce, maintain, monitor and review ESH Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs), documents and forms for all projects.To conduct and document site audits and inspections.To investigate, record, report, liaise with the authorities or company management on ESH-related incidents, accidents, complaints and cases.To establish, maintain, and present records and statistics pertaining to ESH performance.To assist in ISO 9001 review and internal audit.To perform other duties as assigned.Qualification and Competencies:Willing to be based to either Sandakan or Kota Marudu, Sabah, as required for the position.Must be a registered Safety and Health Officer with DOSH (JKKP).Minimum Diploma in Engineering (Environmental/Health/Safety) or related field.At least 3 years working experience in Engineering (Environmental/Health/Safety) or related field.Strong communication skills ( verbal and written).Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measure is essential.Ability to plan, organize, direct and delegateAbility to anticipate trends and risks.Ability to be flexible and adapt to constant change, highly motivated.If you are interested in this position, please email your resume to career@ers.my.
