We’re looking for a strategic and commercially minded Senior Finance Analyst to partner with our T&D and Business Development/New Energies teams. In this role, you’ll lead budgeting and forecasting, deliver insightful variance analysis to the ELT, and develop robust financial models that shape investment decisions and new energy projects.If you thrive on influencing outcomes, driving cost optimisation, and providing actionable insights that support growth and innovation, this is your opportunity to make a real impact.ResponsibilitiesPartner with T&D and Business Development/New Energies teams to provide financial insights that support strategic initiatives and investment decisions.Lead annual budgeting and monthly forecasting, incorporating scenario planning to assess commercial risks and opportunities.Deliver actionable variance analysis and performance reporting to ELT, highlighting drivers of profitability and recommending corrective actions.Manage operating and capital expenditure, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and return on investment.Support cost optimization initiatives and maintain robust financial controls to safeguard compliance and efficiency.Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate capital investments, new energy projects, and strategic partnerships, enabling informed business case decisions.Influence commercial outcomes by challenging assumptions, identifying growth levers, and supporting negotiations with external vendorsQualificationsIdeally CA, CPA or similar business qualification5+ year finance experience desirable, ideally in an Information Technology/Large Corporate environmentCommunication skills, both verbal and writtenFast learner, with a proactive, can-do attitude and a strong willingness to support others.Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use large data setsAbility to use systems in a large corporate commercial environment, e.g. Excel, Power BI, JDE, Adaptive Insights.Additional InformationWe welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and encourage and support diversity in our traditional and non-traditional roles.Please note: This role is being sourced through Viva Energy Australia, therefore we will not be accepting applications via external recruitment agencies.
