We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our busy Information Governance Team. This team plays a vital role in managing data protection enquiries and investigations, complaints, and Freedom of Information requests, ensuring that Hampshire County Council meets its statutory obligations and delivers a high-quality service to the public.You will be joining a highly successful, supportive, and motivated team that works with a broad range of services within the Council.The team is primarily based in Winchester, and the role operates on a hybrid working model combining office presence with remote working in line with business needs to support flexibility and a healthy work-life balance.What you’ll do:Taking up this exciting role as Senior Information Governance Officer, you will use your experience in customer service and problem-solving to respond to complex enquiries under the UK GDPR, Data Protection Act, Freedom of Information Act, and Environmental Information Regulations. Your workload will be as varied as the customers you support, from handling internal reviews to advising on Data Protection Impact Assessments and liaising with the Information Commissioner’s Office. You will also contribute to policy development, training initiatives, and continuous improvement across the organisation.What we’re looking for:Ideally, you will have a good understanding of the public sector and proven skills in statutory compliance, investigation, and influencing positive outcomes.
