Senior Manager / Chief Manager - Tax We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Senior Manager / Chief Manager - Tax to join our team at Mercantile Investments and Finance PLC.Key Responsibilities:Fully or partially qualified in CA Sri Lanka, ACCA, or CIMA.A degree in Accounting or Finance from a recognized university or A Chartered Tax Advisor qualification from CA Sri Lanka is a distinct advantage.Over 5 years of experience in handling tax matters at Tax Manager Grade or higher, preferably within an audit firm. Experience in the Financial Institutions sector will be considered an added advantage.Strong technical knowledge of Sri Lankan tax laws and regulations.Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail, capable of interpreting tax rules and applying them effectively to business scenarios.Effective communication skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with business units, tax authorities, and auditors.Proven ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.Eligibility:Attend all company tax matters, ensuring seamless tax management across the Company.Manage all tax types including Corporate Income Tax, VAT, VAT on financial Services, SSCL, Withholding Tax (WHT), APIT/PAYE, Stamp Duty, and other applicable taxes.Prepare income tax and deferred tax calculations for both accounting and statutory purposes.Oversee the preparation and submission of all tax filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with deadlines.Coordinate with tax consultants and represent the company during tax assessments and interactions with the tax authorities.Internal controls around tax are functioning (e.g., tax process review, documentation maintained).Provide tax-planning advice to management on business initiatives (e.g., new product launch, expansion into new market).Collaboration with business units: timely advice, minimal business disruption from tax issues.An attractive remuneration package, aligned with industry standards, will be offered to the selected candidate.Please forward your CV to careers@mi.com.lk and mention the post of Senior Manager / Chief Manager - Tax as the subject line of the email when you are applying.
