This role works closely with senior leaders to build organisational capability, strengthen leadership effectiveness, and enable a culture of accountability and high performance. It combines strategic foresight with practical execution to ensure the People agenda directly supports commercial outcomes. Leading one Employee Relations Specialist, the Senior People Business Partner provides direction and guidance on complex ER/IR matters while focusing on proactive initiatives that build leadership capability and mitigate risk. Key Responsibilities Partner with senior leaders to design and deliver People strategies that enable business growth and operational excellence. Act as a trusted adviser on organisational design, succession planning, talent development, and leadership effectiveness. Drive workforce planning and talent initiatives that align with future business needs. Provide strategic oversight on complex ER/IR matters, partnering with Legal and Compliance to manage risk and ensure consistency across the region. Coach leaders to manage performance, drive engagement, and make sound, people-related decisions. Lead change management and workforce transitions to support evolving client and business requirements. Continuously review and simplify People processes to improve impact, efficiency, and commercial value. Influence business decisions through data, insight, and sound commercial judgment. Our Ideal Candidate We’re looking for a commercially minded People leader who combines strategic thinking with practical execution. Beyond experience, the right style and attitude will determine success — confidence, curiosity, and a genuine passion for helping the business and its people perform at their best. Proven business partnering experience — ideally 8–10 years in senior HR or People leadership roles across complex, multi-site operations. Strong grounding in both white- and blue-collar environments, with experience supporting award-based or shift-based workforces. Deep understanding of employment frameworks across Australia and New Zealand, with the ability to translate legislation into pragmatic business outcomes. Exceptional stakeholder management skills — credible, trusted, and able to influence at senior levels. Resilient and adaptable, comfortable operating in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment. Commercially focused — someone who balances compliance with business performance and sees HR as a driver of growth, not a back-office function. Proven track record of impact — creating value through improved leadership capability, engagement, and operational effectiveness. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). What's in it for you?
