Working together, we’ll create a future that’s more connected, more intelligent, more sustainable for everyone.Role SummaryInternship Term: January - August 2026If you are not pursuing a degree, please see our full time positions on our Rivian careers site.Note that if your university has specific requirements for internship programs, it is your responsibility to fulfill those requirements.ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop Rivian and Volkswagen group technologies mobile applications and its associated SDK for mobile devices on Android OSDevelop sample and demo applications making use of our technologyCollaborating with the and product and the design team to define app features.Ensuring quality and performance of application to specifications.Identifying potential problems and resolving application bottlenecks.Fixing application bugs before final release.Maintaining the code and atomization of the application.Designing and implementing application updates.Upgrading to Android Developer RequirementsGrow your skills with continual learning, workshops, conferences and talksQualificationsMust be currently pursuing a bachelors, masters, or PhD degree at an accredited universityActively pursuing a degree or one closely related in Computer Science or Software Engineering or Electrical Engineering.Familiarity with Kotlin, Java, and C++.Ability to use the Android Studio, including the Android SDK, with ease.Excellent coding and proofreading skills.Top-notch teamwork and communication skillsKnowledge of Android design principles and application interface guidelines.Familiarity with the best in class Software development practices.Familiarity code versioning tools including Git, Bitbucket and others.Familiarity with push notifications, APIs and cloud messaging.Experience with continuous integration.Excellent inter-personal skills with the ability to collaboratively work with and influence cross-functionalExperience with iOS development including Swift, UIKit, SwiftUI, Xcode is a big plus.Pay DisclosureSalary Range/Hourly Rate for Internships: The range of pay for internships is $25.00-51.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on location, and other factors permitted by law.Rivian provides robust wellness benefits, and a medical insurance package for interns, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26.
