Over the coming years, we're reimagining and expanding our capabilities to create a more connected, intelligent, and efficient transport future.About The RoleWe're seeking a Permanent Systems Engineer - Level 2 to join our Engineering Services team. This mid-level position plays an important role in supporting the design, implementation, testing, and integration of Intelligent Transport Systems across Australia's critical road networks.You'll work closely with senior engineers and contribute to a wide variety of projects within the Transmax Catalogue of Services. This role offers the opportunity to deepen your systems engineering capability while working with real-world traffic management technologies, smart motorway environments, and integrated control systems.RequirementsWhat you'll doReporting to the Systems Engineering Team Leader, you will contribute to technically sound, customer-focused engineering outcomes by:Supporting system design, integration, testing, verification, and validation activities across STREAMS® and associated ITS systemsAssisting with system architecture development, requirements analysis, and configuration tasksPerforming system configuration, upgrades, diagnostics, and fault investigation under senior guidanceResponding to internal and customer work requests, supporting troubleshooting and issue resolutionPreparing and maintaining system artefacts, technical specifications, and operational documentationSupporting continuous improvement of tools, processes, and system performanceAssisting with integration of traffic control systems, roadside field devices, communication networks, and smart motorway technologiesWorking collaboratively with software developers, hardware engineers, solution architects, and project managersTravelling to customer sites as required (local or interstate) for deployment or support activitiesBuilding strong working relationships with internal teams and customersWhat You'll BringYou're a technically capable, curious, and proactive systems engineer who enjoys problem-solving, learning new technologies, and delivering high-quality work.
