Job SummaryAs a Gateway Agent in DHL Express Bermuda, the role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth processing and documentation of import and export shipments in adherence to DHL policies and regulatory standards. This position involves meticulous attention to detail in data entry and documentation completion, as well as accurate classification and coding of shipments based on various parameters. The Gateway Agent oversees the entire shipment lifecycle, from verifying details for accuracy to managing customs documentation submission for efficient clearance. Additionally, this role encompasses providing essential support for day-to-day pick-up and delivery operations, ensuring timely handling of customer materials while maintaining compliance with corporate guidelines and government regulations. Moreover, the Gateway Agent contributes to the efficient and safe transportation of customer materials through diligent material handling and logistical support. Overall, this position requires a proactive approach to ensure seamless operations and uphold DHL's commitment to excellence in service delivery.Shipment Processing and Documentation:Process import and export shipments according to DHL policies and procedures. Ensure accurate data entry and completion of shipment documentation. Classify and code shipments based on content, value, and destination. Verify shipment details for accuracy and identify any discrepancies. Customs and Regulatory Compliance:Manage import/export processes adhering to relevant customs regulations (e.g., Haiti for this example). Prepare and submit accurate customs documentation to ensure smooth clearance. Maintain awareness of local and international trade regulations impacting shipments. Follow and achieve compliance for import/export regulations, duties, and tariffs. (Incorporated from Manager's Description) Pick-up and Delivery Operations:Provide day-to-day administrative support for Gateway Operations activities to ensure efficient and timely pick-up and delivery handling of customer materials and shipments. (Incorporated from Manager's Description) Under direct supervision, provide day-to-day operational support for pick-up and delivery personnel and services. (Incorporated from Manager's Description) Undertake routine tasks and activities to ensure all material is picked up and delivered from/to all area accounts in accordance with corporate guidelines, customer expectations and government regulations. (Incorporated from Manager's Description) Material Handling and Transportation:Under direct supervision, provide support for efficient and safe handling and transportation of all customer materials. Internal Logistics and Movement:Perform recurring tasks for on-time gathering and delivering of goods from warehouse or small sized port to large port. Skills And QualificationsMinimum 2-3 years of experience in logistics. Strong understanding of export documentation and customs clearance. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. Ability to prioritize and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Commitment to exceptional customer service. Fluency in English (written and verbal). Working knowledge of Spanish or French is a plus.
