It plays an important role in international affairs through diplomacy, trade, development aid and working with global organizations. Abroad, the EU is represented through more than 140 diplomatic representations, known also as EU Delegations, which have a similar function to those of an embassy.The EU Delegation to the Republic of Colombia, in Bogotá works in close coordination with the Embassies and Consulates of the 27 EU Member States. We are a fully-fledged diplomatic mission and represent the European Union in dealings with the Colombian government in areas that are part of the EU’s remit.We offerThe post of Secretary (Local Agent Group 3) in the Delegation’s Cooperation section. The team consists of 14 people and there are occasional atypical working hours.Under this post, the recruited person will be attributed functions depending on the needs of the Delegation, and on the changes of these needs. The successful candidate will serve under the supervision and responsibility of the Head of Cooperation, providing support, expertise and assistance in secretarial activities of the section.Following Main Tasks And Duties Are Currently RequiredMaintenance of the section´s files; Classification, filing, and registering of correspondence and documents.Management of agendas of the head of section and other colleagues in the section.Logistical support to the organization of meetings/events/missions.Updating contact data base for the section.Receiving external visitors for the section (meeting, interviews, and appointments).Relations with external stakeholders regarding events and public affairs regarding cooperation.Prepare the minutes of the meetings.Supervision of and coordination with the other secretary in the section.General administrative tasks (archives, photocopies, phone calls, etc.).Any other tasks or ad hoc tasks relating to the activities of the Section and the Delegation.A two-year contract with the possibility of extending for an additional two years. After this period, in accordance with the new labour law, the contract would then become indefinite (if confirmed). The base salary will depend on relevant and verified employment experience, typically starting from COP $ 5.961.744. There is a competitive benefits package, subject to certain conditions, including personal leave days and public holidays, health insurances and a retirement savings plan.The expected start date will be 01 January 2026.Minimum requirements / eligibility criteria (necessary for the application to be considered).Technical or technologist in administrative or secretarial areas or bachelor’s degree in administration, international relations or another field relevant for the position.At least 3 years of proven experience in relation to the above-mentioned tasks.Excellent knowledge (C2 level) of Spanish and working knowledge (B2 level) of English.Right to residence and work in Colombia.Good level of computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Webex, etc.)Assets / selection criteria (basis for awarding points to select the best applicant)Proficiency in other EU languages.Professional experience preferably within an international, public administration, or intergovernmental organisations, EU or other donor funded projects or NGOs.Good level of skills of time management, and interpersonal skills; capacity of organizing and coordinating meetings and agendas.Ability to work alone and/or in a team, respecting deadlines, to deal with stress situations and to respond quickly to new demands.Proficiency with other IT solutions relevant for the job.How to applyPlease submit your application, consisting of a cover letter and Europass format CV via the e-mail to eeasjobs-067@eeas.europa.eu no later than 24:00 18/11/2025.
