Transmission Engineer (Resident Engineer)

Job SummaryOn behalf of Huawei, a world-renowned it and communications company, We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Transmission Resident Engineer with 5 years of experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining high-capacity transmission networks. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in fiber optics, SDH, DWDM, and microwave systems, ensuring reliable and efficient data and voice transmission across large-scale telecommunications infrastructures.This role requires an analytical mindset, strong hands-on problem-solving abilities, and a passion for continuous network optimization and service quality improvement.Mandatory RequirementsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.Experience: Minimum 5 years as a Transmission Engineer with resident/on-site experience in live telecom networks.Technology Expertise:DWDM, SDH, OTN, Ethernet, IP/MPLS, Microwave (Huawei RTN, Nokia SR, Ericsson MINI-LINK).Hands-on with U2000, TNMS, iManager, NMS/EMS systems.Protocols: PDH, SONET, Ethernet, MPLS.Testing Tools: Proficient with Optical Power Meter, OTDR, BER Tester.Documentation: Ability to independently produce HLD/LLD, BOQ, MOP, and ATP reports in fluent English.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, configure, and optimize transmission networks, including DWDM, SDH, OTN, and Microwave technologies.Perform link engineering, capacity planning, and performance analysis for transmission systems.Ensure seamless network integration between core, access, and transmission layers.Conduct preventive maintenance and fault resolution to minimize downtime and ensure service reliability.Coordinate with vendors, project teams, and internal stakeholders for network expansion, implementation, and equipment upgrades.Prepare comprehensive network documentation, BOQs, acceptance test reports (ATRs), and other project deliverables.Ensure compliance with industry standards, company policies, and safety regulations.Support commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of optical and microwave links.
