Vice President of Technology

Quanta Services (NYSE: PWR) is expanding with a focused on engineering, procurement, and construction of gas-fired power plants, data center power infrastructure, and large-scale generation assets. The VP of Technology will be the technology leader for this business. You will transition a set of enterprise systems from Quanta’s existing infrastructure, adapt them for power generation EPC, and enhance with new capabilities. You will sit on the Power Solutions leadership team and serve as a strategic partner to the executive team.Power generation is a complex, multi-discipline EPC business, site-based projects with multi-year durations, heavy mechanical and piping scope, and regulatory obligations. The technology leader who thrives here will have scaled IT organizations in operationally complex, project-driven environments.The pace is real. Quanta Services is rapidly growing. You must be comfortable working in a fast pace environment.WHAT YOU WILL OWN:Build and Lead the Technology OrganizationYou are expanding Power Solution’s technology function - organizational structure, the right people, enhance the operating rhythm, and ruthlessly prioritize how the team operates. Quanta’s larger operating companies serve as reference models. You will right-size this business. Be decisive about how to staff, balancing contract support.Own the Technology Strategy and TransitionA portion of the technology stack is transferred from existing Quanta operations. Enhancements must be configured for generation-specific requirements. A significant portion — engineering, project controls, procurement workflows, field construction technology, data and analytics — are built and ready for enhancement. You support the business strategy, the sequencing, and the execution required for success. you will establish a technology roadmap that positions Power Solutions for continual growth — including a data and analytics strategy, a practical approach to AI and automation, and the architecture decisions that determine how well these systems scale. Quanta Corporate Technology and partner operating companies support you, but you are the accountable leader.Drive Build-vs-Buy DecisionsFor anything that is not strategic to Power Gen’s competitive advantage, buy it and move on. For capabilities that differentiate the business, seriously consider building. The best technology leaders across Quanta’s operating companies have found this balance. You will need to do the same, with the added complexity of starting from a largely blank sheet.Coordinate with Quanta Corporate TechnologyPower Solutions operates within the Quanta governance framework. You will coordinate with Quanta IT leadership on cybersecurity, infrastructure standards, compliance, and shared services — and equally important, you will know how to plug into and leverage corporate’s broader technology investments to accelerate infrastructure and systems. This is a partnership: you advocate for Power Solutions’s needs while maintaining alignment with enterprise standards.Serve as a Strategic Partner to the BusinessThis is an EPC company. Technology exists to make the engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams faster, safer, and more profitable. You will provide strategic and operational technology leadership as a trusted partner to Power Solutions’s executive team and functional leaders — shaping priorities, informing decisions, and ensuring technology enables the business.WHAT YOU BRINGRequired15+ years in technology leadership, with at least 5 years at the VP/Director level or equivalent in complex, operationally intensive environments.Demonstrated experience scaling an IT organization — not just inheriting and building a strong team. Hiring, structuring, prioritizing, and delivering under resource constraints.Deep operational fluency with ERP systems (JDE/Oracle strongly preferred), project controls platforms, and enterprise application architecture.Experience managing technology budgets and vendor relationships with a bias toward total cost of ownership and business outcomes.Awareness of public company governance requirements (SOX, internal controls, audit readiness) and the ability to ensure your organization operates within that framework.Exceptional communication skills. You will work directly with executive leadership, construction and engineering leaders, and corporate stakeholders.Strongly PreferredExperience in EPC, industrial construction, power generation, or a related heavy-operations industry (energy, oil & gas, manufacturing). Familiarity with platforms common in large-capital project environments: Autodesk Construction Cloud, 3D CAD, Primavera P6, EcoSys, InEight, or equivalents. Understanding of how to support high-performance engineering workloads and awareness of how IT and operational technology environments intersect during construction and commissioning.Background in data and analytics strategy and a practical understanding of where AI and automation create value in project-driven businesses.Experience within the Quanta Services family of companies.EducationBachelor’s degree required. Engineering, Construction Management, Information Systems, or related field preferred.
