Road Accident Involving Ambulance

The was a head-on collision between an ambulance and a family car yesterday on the A-367 where it passes through the municipality of Cuevas del Becerro, (Málaga).

The accident, which occurred close to kilometre point 22, caused injuries to eleven people and the death of a dog.

Ten of the victims were taken to the Hospital de Ronda, whilst the driver of the car, a 45-year-old woman, was taken to Hospital Clínico in the city of Málaga owing to the severity of her injuries.

The emergency call centre, 112, received several calls around 12.30h to report that there had been an accident involving a car and an out-patient-transport ambulance with eight patients onboard and two crew. In the car was the woman and her dog.

The emergency centre despatched the Guardia Civil de Tráfico, vehicles from the Málaga Fire Department and several ambulances.

The out-patients being transported were eight men aged between 31 and 70 and three women, aged 45, 48 and 75.
