Backup Administrator

Consolidated revenues as of 12 months ending June 2024 totaled $13.4 billion.Role Summary:We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Backup Administrator to support enterprise backup operations using IBM Spectrum Protect (TSM) and Dell Networker. The role involves managing backup policies, troubleshooting failures, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring data protection across virtual and physical environments. Knowledge of storage systems (NetApp, Dell ECS) is considered a strong advantage.Key Responsibilities:Monitor and manage backup jobs across multiple platforms (Windows, Linux, VMware).Configure and maintain backup policies and schedules in TSM and Networker.Performing restores and validates data integrity.Troubleshoot backup failures and escalate issues as needed.Coordinate with vendors for software updates, patching, and issue resolution.Maintain documentation and update knowledge base articles.Participate in change management: create, plan, implement, and verify changes.Support backup operations during infrastructure upgrades and migrations.Collaborate with storage and OS teams for end-to-end issue resolution.Generate audit and KPI reports related to backup performance and compliance.Participate in weekly operational reviews and customer meetings.Requirements:1–3 years of experience in enterprise backup administration.Hands-on experience with IBM Spectrum Protect (TSM) and Dell Networker.Familiarity with backup for virtual environments (VMware).Basic understanding of backup for databases (Oracle, SQL, DB2).Strong troubleshooting and incident resolution skills.Good understanding of ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem Management).Strong documentation and communication skills in English.Ability to work in a 24x7 rotational shift environment if required.Nice to Have:Experience with Veeam or other backup platforms.Experience with ServiceNow CRMKnowledge of NetApp or Dell ECS storage systems.Scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash) for automation.Experience with backup reporting tools or Power BI.Exposure to Active Directory and file-level permissions.What we offer:Competitive salary;Opportunity for career progression;Young and vibrant team environment;Social benefits package;Food vouchers;Professional on-boarding and on-going trainings.Are you willing to build up your career with us? - We’ll be happy to receive your resume in English!*Your personal data is secure with us.** Only candidates selected for interview will be contactedHCLTech provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by state or local laws.
