Cash Application Team Lead

What you will do: In this role, you will be at the center of the Apply Cash team — coordinating daily operations, driving process excellence, and maintaining strong connections with the Local GBS AR leads. You will lead by example, inspiring and empowering your team, acting as their first point of contact, and fostering a collaborative, people-focused culture. Through proactive issue resolution and continuous improvement, you will contribute to the success of the company’s dynamic, international environment.Responsibilities: Lead and empower the cash applications team: Provide clear direction, coaching, and support towards your team members Combine process expertise with technology awareness to guide the team in achieving operational targets and SLAs. Set objectives aligned with strategic goals as defined by management, Delegate tasks effectively maintain up-to-date knowledge of cash application processes, policies, and client-specific requirements. Ensure high-quality operations Make sure apply cash activities performed on a timely basis according to SLAs, Follow detailed group procedures, respecting compliance (internal controls, external regulations and ethics standards) and guarantee customer satisfaction. Monitor team KPIs, improve performance, and provide advice & technical expertise for solving escalated issues and perform complex operations. Drive continuous improvement Apply methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma to optimize workflows and implement automation tools. Foster a culture of innovation and efficiency within the team by continuously improving your team’s processes through collaboration within the service line and AR specialists Coach and develop team members: Provide structured feedback, mentoring, supporting individual growth and manage change effectively to meet evolving business needs. Collaborate with stakeholders Act as the primary contact for the local GBS SPOC on status updates, new initiatives, and escalations. Build strong relationships with internal teams and external customers, Ensure alignment and service quality through clear communication across departments and geographies. Desired education, expertise, and skills: Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 6 years of experience in cash application, accounts receivable, or financial operations, including leadership experience. Preferably in a shared service center (SSC) or business process outsourcing (BPO) environment. Technical Skills Strong understanding of Order-to-Cash processes and AR Accounting. Proficiency in Excel, including advanced functions. Knowledge of RPA is a plus Experience with SAP system is needed. Knowledge of automated cash application tools (e.g, HighRadius cash application) and reconciliation processes Familiarity with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean Six Sigma). Soft Skills Strong leadership, coaching, and team management skills. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to drive performance excellence, manage change, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Strong process design and documentation capabilities Ability to bridge operational needs with technical/system requirements Analytical mindset with attention to detail Languages Fluent in French/English, both written and oral. Be able to interact confidently with international stakeholders and comfortable with producing and understanding professional content (documentation, presentations, written and oral exchanges). Business proficiency in other European languages such as Dutch is a plus.
