Reporting to the SeniorDirector of CloudOps, your role requires a blend of strong technical expertise in AWS and CloudEngineering practices, excellent leadership skills, and a strategic mindset to drive the teamtowards achieving the company's objectives.You will be responsible for:Strong Technical Focus and Leadership: Dive into challenging technical issuesrelated to AWS infrastructure, guide the team to tackle ambitious problems, and ensureour efforts deliver high-value impactService Ownership and Cloud Engineering Best Practices: Take charge of maintaining and operating our team's AWS services, implementing Cloud Engineering best practices to foster the production of high-quality, well-architected, and sustainable infrastructure as codeTeam Development: Provide coaching and mentorship to cloud engineers and offer guidance to senior contributors, maximizing their potential. Conduct regular performance reviews to assess and support engineers' growth and development. Manage career development plans, ensuring alignment with individual and company goalsCommercial Insight and Stakeholder Communication: Utilize your interpersonal skills and commercial acumen to ensure team members understand the impact of their work on infrastructure and product delivery. Also, provide estimates for delivery to stakeholdersVision Alignment and Strategic Clarity: Clarify the team's vision, mission, and strategy for AWS and Cloud Engineering practices, ensuring alignment with company objectives to avoid wasted effortsCollaboration with Product Owner and Development Teams: Collaborate closely with the Product Owner and development teams to comprehend and contribute to the product roadmap, ensuring seamless integration of Cloud Engineering practicesAgile Methodologies and Continuous Delivery: Employ Agile methodologies with the assistance of the Scrum Master to continuously deliver value to customers through efficient Cloud Engineering processesCultivate a Culture of Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement through retrospection, encouraging the team to reflect on past experiences and strive for ongoing enhancement of Cloud Engineering practicesProject Management:Develop detailed project plans outlining key milestones, deliverables, timelines,and resource allocation for Cloud Engineering initiativesEnsure transparency by providing detailed reports on initiative status, including metrics, timelines, and any deviations from the planStrategic Input: Provide feedback and input to Senior Managers to align Cloud Engineering initiatives with overall company strategy and visionTechnical Requirements:AWS Expertise:Minimum of 8+ years of hands-on experience with AWS services,including:Containers (Docker, AWS ECS)AWS FargateServerless computing (AWS Lambda, API Gateway)Cloud cost management and optimizationKubernetes (preferably Amazon EKS)Networking: Strong understanding of AWS networking concepts (VPC, subnets,security groups, etc.)Linux-Based Systems: Extensive experience (minimum 8+ years) with Linux-based operating systems, including:Proficiency in shell scripting (Bash, Zsh)System administration and performance tuningSecurity hardening and patch managementTroubleshooting and debugging in Linux environmentsInfrastructure as Code: Proficiency in tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or AWS CDKCI/CD Expertise: Strong understanding and implementation experience with CI/CDpipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, BuildKite or AWS CodePipelineScripting and Automation: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation tasksMonitoring and Logging: Experience with AWS CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or similar toolsSecurity and Compliance: In-depth knowledge of AWS security best practices and IAMExperience with compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI DSS)Implementing and maintaining security policies and proceduresDatabase Management: Familiarity with managing databases in AWS (RDS, DynamoDB, etc.)Education & ExperienceMinimum 10 years industry experienceBS in CS/ Masters in CS or equivalentAWS certification(s) (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOpsEngineer) preferredLeadership And Soft SkillsExcellent Interpersonal Skills: A people person who can mentor, understand and inspire individuals and teams, fostering collaboration and teamworkStrategic Thinking: Ability to operate strategically, from conception through continuous operation of 24x7 cloud services.
