About GridsightElectricity grids are undergoing the most significant transformation in a century. The shift to renewables, the proliferation of rooftop solar, batteries, and EVs, and the increasing complexity of distribution networks are forcing utilities to operate their grids in fundamentally new ways.Gridsight builds the analytics platform that makes this possible. We're already embedded with most of Australia's major distribution networks and have contracts with some of the largest investor-owned utilities in the United States. We're well-funded, growing quickly, and positioned at the centre of a global shift toward dynamic grid management.The RoleWe're hiring a Data Science Lead to build and run the data science function at Gridsight.You'll manage a team of data scientists (initially 3+), set the technical vision and strategy for the function, and establish the practices that enable high-quality, production-ready work. You'll work closely with our CEO who has deep technical experience in the domain, and our VP of Engineering to ensure data science capabilities align with product and commercial goals — and you'll stay hands-on technically, contributing directly where needed.This is a leadership role with real scope. You'll shape how data science operates at Gridsight: team structure, workflows, standards, and technical direction. You'll guide work across grid modelling, optimisation, and emerging capabilities. And you'll be a key voice in translating customer problems into technical roadmaps.We're building toward a layered vision of grid analytics, optimisation engines, and decision/recommendation systems.
