Job DescriptionPosition Summary:The Director of Human Resources serves as AUIB’s chief HR officer, providing strategic leadership and operational oversight across all areas of human resources management — including recruitment and retention, compensation and benefits, performance management, employee relations, professional development, and compliance with Iraqi labor laws and institutional policies.Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and systems that align with AUIB’s mission and strategic goals. Oversee the full cycle of recruitment, onboarding, and retention for academic and administrative staff. Design and manage competitive compensation and benefits programs. Lead performance evaluation, training, and professional development initiatives. Advise the COO and university leadership on employee relations, workforce planning, and organizational effectiveness. Ensure compliance with Iraqi labor laws and university policies. Promote a positive workplace culture grounded in respect, integrity, and collaboration. Oversee HR information systems and maintain accurate and confidential personnel records. Lead strategic headhunting and executive recruitment for senior and specialized positions. Oversee and optimize HR digital systems and Oracle HCM operations, ensuring accurate data and reporting. Support organizational design, workforce planning, and succession management. Develop and implement training and professional development programs for staff growth. Manage employee relations and conflict resolution processes to maintain a positive workplace climate. Collaborate with Finance on budgeting and manpower forecasting. Prepare HR analytics and dashboards to support data-driven leadership decisions. Education And Experience Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field (Doctorate preferred). Minimum of 8–10 years of progressively responsible HR experience, including at least 5 years in a senior management role. Experience in higher education or large international organizations preferred. Professional HR certification required (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, CIPD, or SPHR or PHR, or equivalent). Proficiency in HR information systems (preferably Oracle or similar ERP platforms). Proven ability in strategic recruitment and headhunting for senior or specialized positions. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated cultural sensitivity. Ability to develop and implement HR policies, compensation structures, and job grading systems. Demonstrated commitment to staff development, performance management, and fostering a positive workplace culture.
