Position: ESP Supplier Relationship Team LeadRotation: 28/28Location: Basra, IraqDuration: 12 months renewableDepartment/Function: ESP SquadThe Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP) Squad is an agile multidisciplinary team who are accountable for delivery of the ESP Transformation Strategy and ESP life cycle performance. The products that the ESP Squad deliver are improving operational and cost efficiency and ensuring that the organisation and ways of working are ready for the future of installing and operating 1000 ESPs.This role provides both technical and commercial leadership for ESP contracts and inventory across Wells and Operations. It ensures reliable, cost-effective, and HSE-compliant delivery of ESP services by managing vendor performance, contract governance, inventory and budget control. The position interfaces with Wells, Operations, SubSurface, Supply Chain, and Finance, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement. Manage ESP Contracts on behalf of both Wells and Operations departments, technically and commercially. Develop governance-compliant tenders (prepare tender document package, respond to bidder clarifications, evaluate tender bids). Contract renewals, additions, and amendments Manage and approve contract spend. Ensure timely and efficient ESP delivery by aligning inventory management, vendor compliance, and operational planning. Set ESP Squad Annual Work Plan & Budget requirements. Address performance issues and implement continuous improvement measures to optimise performance standards of all ESP Vendors. Uphold strict adherence to HSE and regulatory requirements from ESP vendors. Team Leadership: Provide clear direction, mentorship, and motivation to direct and indirect reports. Lead and develop both national and expatriate personnel. Role model Agility and new ways of workingExperience, Qualifications & Key Skills Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in Field Operations, Wells, ESP technologies, and Contract Management. Strong track record in vendor and contract management within large-scale oilfield operations. Degree in Oilfield, Petroleum, or Technical Engineering; additional commercial or finance training preferred. Expertise in ESP systems, HSE leadership, and contract governance. Excellent leadership, mentoring, and cross-cultural communication skills.
