Join a dynamic and integral team within the Infrastructure Services Directorate, where you will play a key role in delivering high-quality fleet management services to the local community.As a Fleet Services Officer, you will contribute to the efficient coordination and operation of plant, equipment, and machinery used by various operational workgroups. This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, enjoys problem-solving, and is committed to providing excellent customer service and support to a diverse range of stakeholders.Twelve (12) Month Term Contract.Temporary, full-time position (35 hours per week).Remuneration package of $3,087.34 gross per fortnight with the opportunity to progress to $3,704.81gross per fortnight + superannuation (12%).Access to Council’s Flexible Working Arrangements.Ongoing training and development opportunities. Generous leave entitlements.About YouTo succeed in this role, you will need:Strong organisational and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.A good understanding of fleet management, plant procurement, and operational processes.Proficiency in using Fleet Management Systems, Finance Systems, and other relevant software.Knowledge of Work Health & Safety regulations as they pertain to fleet and plant operations.Previous experience in a similar role within a local government or similar environment will be highly regarded.A commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and building positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:Fleet Management Coordination: Oversee the deployment of plant, equipment, and machinery across operational work groups, ensuring seamless and timely service delivery.Fleet System Maintenance: Assist in maintaining and updating the Fleet Management System, ensuring the accurate tracking and reporting of plant and vehicle utilisation, identifying inefficiencies, and addressing underutilisation.Performance Reporting & Analysis: Collaborate with the management team to analyse fleet performance and workshop performance using data from the Fleet Management System and Finance System. Knowledge of maintenance concepts such as downtime and work order backlogs will be essential.Procurement of Plant & Vehicles: Coordinate the purchase of new vehicles and equipment via quotations, tenders, and government contracts. Handle the sourcing, evaluation, and reporting of offers for Council approval.Customer Service & Supplier Relations: Provide high-level reception and administrative support, including liaising with fleet management clients and external suppliers, and ensuring high-quality customer service.Registration & Compliance: Coordinate the bi-annual registration of the fleet with NSW Roads and Maritime Services (RMS), as well as the registration of new vehicles and equipment.Operational Liaison: Work closely with operational supervisors to ensure the fleet services meet and exceed expectations, providing timely information and data to support operational needs.Fleet WHS Support: Assist the Fleet Manager with fleet telematics and Work Health & Safety (WHS) assessments to ensure compliance and safety standards.Administration: Assist with administrative duties related to fleet management, including checking government contract pricing, verifying supplier invoices, and supporting internal plant hire charge administration.As The Successful Applicant, You Will HaveCertificate IV in Fleet Management or related field.Experience in local government procurement processes and tenderingExperience with heavy plant and machinery.Familiarity with RMS regulations and vehicle registration processes.What is next?Applications close Sunday, 23 November 2025 at 11.59pm AEDST with interviews to be held in the week commencing Monday, 1 December 2025.If you are interested in this role and would like more information, please contact Daniel Davey, Manager Plant, Fleet & Buildings on 026971 9759.As part of the recruitment process, pre-employment checks will be conducted in line with requirements of the position.Selected candidates for this position will be asked to consent to a police check.
