Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Project Manager to join our growing Los Angeles studio. The ideal candidate will have 4-5 years of experience in an architecture firm, with a proven track record of successfully managing and delivering high-end custom residential or luxury retail projects from concept through construction administration. This role requires advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Sketchup and exceptional project leadership skills. (Studio Designer experience is a plus)Key ResponsibilitiesProject Leadership & ManagementProject Oversight: Manage the full project lifecycle, ensuring the design vision is maintained while meeting technical, budgetary, and scheduling requirements.Client Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for high-net-worth clients and consultants. Lead client meetings, present design progress, and manage client expectations and change orders with professionalism and diplomacy.Team Coordination: Lead and mentor junior staff (Job Captains, Interns). Effectively delegate tasks, manage workflow, and ensure internal deadlines are met.Consultant Coordination: Direct the work of external consultants (structural, mechanical, civil, lighting, etc.) and seamlessly integrate their work into the architectural documents.Technical Production & DocumentationAdvanced AutoCAD Proficiency: Utilize AutoCAD as the primary production tool to personally draft, detail, and oversee the production of comprehensive, high-quality Design Document (CD) sets.Detailing Mastery: Develop complex, intricate architectural details, including custom millwork, bespoke assemblies, material transitions, and envelope solutions specific to high-end residential and luxury environments.Quality Control: Conduct thorough quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) checks on all drawing sets to ensure accuracy, technical completeness, and compliance with all applicable local building codes (LADBS) and zoning ordinances.Construction Administration (CA)Site Management: Lead project site visits, manage communication with general contractors and subcontractors, and respond efficiently to Requests for Information (RFIs).Submittal Review: Review and process submittals, shop drawings, and mock-ups to ensure adherence to the design intent and technical specifications.Close-out: Oversee project punch lists and close-out documentationRequired QualificationsExperience: 4-5 years of professional experience working in an architectural firm, specifically on high-end custom residential or luxury retail/boutique commercial projects.Software Expertise: High level of proficiency and speed in AutoCAD is mandatory. Experience with Sketchup is a plus, but expertise in AutoCAD for DD production is essential.Technical Skills: Deep understanding of construction methods, materials, sequencing, and technical detailing required for luxury projects.Location: Must currently reside in the Los Angeles area.
