As a small, quality-driven team, we value craftsmanship, clear communication and a design process that balances creativity with technical precision.Role DescriptionWe are seeking a full-time Senior Architect to join our studio in Concord, NSW. This is a senior, hands-on role suited to someone with strong technical capability, refined design sensibilities and the confidence to lead projects through all stages - from concept and DA/CDC documentation through to coordination and delivery.You’ll work closely with our Director on design development, oversee documentation quality, coordinate with consultants, and bring clarity and professionalism to client interactions. The role also includes mentoring junior team members, guiding documentation standards, and contributing to the operational rhythm of the studio.This role is ideal for an architect who enjoys both the creative and technical sides of residential design and wants to play a meaningful role within a boutique, high-quality practice.Key ResponsibilitiesLead design and documentation across multiple high-end residential projectsDevelop and refine design concepts with the DirectorPrepare and oversee DA/CDC documentation packagesCoordinate with consultants, suppliers and buildersLiaise confidently with clients throughout the design and documentation processReview and elevate project outputs to maintain Habitat’s standardsMentor junior designers and support team capabilityMaintain drawing standards, documentation quality and workflow efficiencyContribute to improvements across processes and client experienceQualificationsRegistration as an Architect in NSW (or near registration)6–10 years experience in residential architecture (high-end or boutique studio experience preferred)Strong Revit proficiency with excellent documentation and detailing capabilityExperience preparing DA/CDC documentation and coordinating with consultantsConfident communicator with client-facing experienceAbility to manage multiple projects and deadlines with attention to detailKnowledge of Australian Standards, BCA/NCC and residential constructionA proactive, collaborative mindset and a strong eye for design refinementAttributes we valueDetail-driven and quality-focusedProactive, dependable and calm under pressurePolished communication skillsSupportive team presence who leads by exampleStrong sense of design refinement and proportionSomeone who represents Habitat with confidence and careLife at Habitat HousingWe’re a small, collaborative team that values culture as much as craft.
