We are looking for a Tax Senior Consultant to join our successful Hamilton-based team. Being part of a specialist tax practice in Hamilton, you will have the opportunity to work as part of a diverse team that continues to grow.You will advise a portfolio of clients ranging in size, on some of the most stimulating SME and Corporate tax issues, and in the process further develop both your technical and management skills. In Hamilton the clients we help include small to medium-sized enterprises, high net worth individuals and family groups, large multi-national companies and agricultural businesses.Job DescriptionThe impact you’ll make:ResponsibilitiesAs a Senior Consultant you will be responsible for contributing to and/or managing a portfolio of clients ranging in size and covering a broad range of corporate tax issues. You will demonstrate and develop your capabilities in the following areas:Advising on a wide range of business tax matters from tax compliance to tax planning. Our tax team provides you with opportunity to grow your generalist tax knowledge together with the ability to focus/ further develop any areas of specialist interest you may have including employment taxes, GST, etc.Helping clients to identify, manage and mitigate tax risk, meet compliance obligations and statutory deadlines, resolve tax disputes and realise business goals.Influencing clients and the team positively, leading by example and establishing confident relationships with senior people.Applying knowledge of current and pending tax legislation's and understanding interaction across global tax functions, specifically in your areas of expertise. Fact based decision making by using the appropriate research techniques and skillsImproving work efficiency, effectiveness and client service by using common technology tools.Helping clients mitigate risk, meet compliance obligations and statutory deadlines, and realize business goals Preparing and reviewing income tax returns and tax provisionsQualificationsYour expertise: Bring your passion for tax and see what impact you can make.3 - 6 years experience in a professional services or corporate tax environmentA professional qualification in law or accountingA strong understanding of end to end tax processes & the NZ tax environmentExperience in any specialist areas of tax would be beneficial (but not essential)Excellent team player and proven organisational and communications skills.Results focused & client oriented.
